Dr. James R. “Rick” Walker’s criminal justice career spans 40 years. He served in a num-ber of key positions that in-clude patrol officer and depu-ty sheriff, investigator, and later to sergeant of patrol and investigative units within law enforcement organizations in South Carolina and Texas. During his career with the Houston Police Department, Dr. Walker was involved in development of criminal jus-tice training programs for the department’s juvenile sex crimes investigations unit. In addition to his career as a law enforcement officer Dr. Walker has also served as a professor and course develop-er for several colleges and universities including; Texas A&M University and the University of Maryland. Rick presently serves as Executive Director of the Accrediting Commission for Law and Jus-tice Education
