The police will check vaccination status on the street and at traffic stops. Those who are not vaccinated risk fines of between 600 and 3,600 euros. There are only exceptions for people with medical exceptions or pregnant women.
Critics of the new mandate argue that it violates human rights and that vaccination should be a personal choice. The law runs until 2024 and sparked mass rallies ahead of its passage.

Feb 2 2022 - Jane Scharf - TRUCKERS: GET THE WORD OUT The road in front of Parliament Hill is federal and it is part of the trans Canada highway which is also federally regulated. Therefore the Canadian Bill of Rights applies. And this is good news because your rights under the Bill are unconditional. And under this Bill you have the right to protest. Tell them they don’t want to use the Charter because the Charter section 1 gives the government the right to override the right to protest or other rights for that matter. If they use the Charter and the RCMP shut it down by force truckers will have to do a constitutional challenge later to establish that. There is no protection in the moment with the Charter. Only the Bill gives you that immediate right. You can say you have a right to protest under the Bill so any order to shut it down is unlawful and does not have to be obeyed.
