https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcRWiz1PhKUHistory doesn't repeat itself, but it rhymes.
Not an original idea by any stretch, but I've talked before about elite compliance.
Trudeau and co see the trucker strike as the the far right/antivaxxer/racist/homophobe/Russia involvement brigade, rather than a legitimate grievance of millions of people. The potential elites who could see the legitimate grievance of the Canadian people were kicked out of the system long ago.
Look back at Eastern Europe. Romania 1989 as the most striking example. There's a feeling this is happening now with the elites in the west.
The Canadian government are going to double down on this. And become more authoritarian as a result.
People have talked about how this is a plan to make the truckers more unpopular as a result to push in supply chain issues. That could be definitely true, and there could be some bad actors pushing that. But the problem there is the increasingly authoritarian measures are going to start to turn more and more people against the government. Meanwhile, with the opening of places outside of Europe, it becomes harder to justify in the short to medium term.
When the people who keep your society running (truckers, miners, builders, not some civil servant with a laptop class job) shut down your supply lines, you're in big trouble.
Whatever happens, its going to go nuts. And if Canada doesn't snap out of it (enough elites in Canada wake up and start turning on Trudeau) then things move towards an authoritarian clown world regime that will eventually collapse.
