The go fund me is working perfectly right now as far as I’m told… Plus I keep checking it… And it’s continuing to function… There is/was some members concern after what Gerald Butts said… About truckers being ( redacted) or something like that… That is making people concerned that the go fund me could potentially suffer some sort of political shenanigans..from the political elite…
But people are “on it” and they have been messaging go fund me corporate..And asking for assurance that go fund me corporate will not bend to any federal political pressure tactics or Trudy shenanigans..
Things seem pretty cool so far… My neighbour just donated and it worked perfectly…
There is currently about 25,000 donors… That’s a lot of people to piss off…AND it would be a HUGE public relations mistake for the go fund me company… If they were ever to involve themselves in political shenanigans..
Go fund me takes a small percentage correct?… I feel Reasonably safe in saying..
I don’t think that’s a commission they want to lose…
I don’t think GoFundMe will mess with Canadians… Canadians have entrusted them with their hard earned money… And I don’t think they want to lose reputation in Canada.
Furthermore, if the federal government were to try and mess with this… they know that they would enrage Canadians, and many truckers would still go… Only they would be extra extra angry… I don’t think the federal government really wants that..
Right now the convoy has an amazing spirit…
This is one of the biggest things born of the grass roots that has ever happened in Canada… If the federal government were to publicly crush that… They know that they could never conquer the fallout from an action like that.
That’s just my personal opinion… They probably have a team of Spin Doctors working on the convoy as it is…
I just saw an article that said… Truckers in BC were out in masses to protest the “bad road conditions”

UPDATE: FINANCE COMMITTEE/GO FUND ME:

Good afternoon. I wanted to update you on what we have accomplished so far today.

1. Go Fund Me - I received a notification stating that our withdrawals are being held pending review with a short list of things to correct this which simple entails updating the Go Fund Me description with the following information:
a) if I/we are related to the person(s) I/we are raising money for.
b) withdrawl plans to get the fund from our account to the
benficiaries and
c) How the funds will be spent.
I wanted to make you aware of this as you will see the description in the Go Fund Me will be changed to reflect this request. Once I have that step completed we will be good to go!

2. I met with the Accountant and two fantastic Book Keepers this afternoon. We will be holding a committee meeting this evening to formalize a small finance board of volunteers to make sure all funds are properly accounted for and dispersed. On their advice I contacted the bank and was able to get things set up properly from that end. This enables us to accept etransfers now as a lot of you have expressed concerns or hesitancy with the Go Fund Me. I have created a new email account linked to this account with autodeposit for this purpose. The email address is financeconvoy2022@protonmail.com.

Thank you all for stepping up and helping me with this! I have been able to form a very professional and efficient team <3

Wow, huge grassroots support for an anti-tyranny convoy that’s set to begin tomorrow across Canada.

The GoFundMe creator writes: “We are a peaceful country that has helped protect nations across the globe from tyrannical governments who oppressed their people, and now it seems it is happening here. The thing about the Burnaby now I know for sure.
All the independent journalist left in 2018-2019 or were fired.
If you read through this newspaper. There is only 3 people writing the articles. I know for sure one of them has tights to the new burnaby mayor, and translink.
I am not doubting that he may get bribes from the municipality to write or not yo write whatever articles the municipality wants.
It is really sad.
