I sometimes have to rely on piratebay because they do have a lot of things you won't find anywhere else, but I'd like to be part of private trackers. It's just that I don't have any friends who are members, at least not as far as I know. Which means you have to ask people you don't know.

And when their membership depends on the reliability of the people they invite, suddenly it becomes amazingly hard to get in. And you don't want to befriend someone just for an invite, that's dishonest.

That said, I wouldn't mind an invite to a private tracker. But you have to realize that the reason why people still use pirate bay is because private trackers is just that. Private, and you can't use what you can't access.
