WHy does everyone like this generic shit?

It's just uninspired surrealism, with no flow or emotional delivery. The samples are plain and unremarkable, very sounds lyrics are indistinguishable, the theme pretentious. I've never before heard a hip-hop album so devoid of fun or beauty. Why can't he learn the basics of rapping, he needs to learn about rhythm control and pitch. Not even the worse /mu/core comes close to this shit.

I love rap, but this sucks.

What's good about him? Half of the tracks on this album are filler. That's pretty pathetic for a rap album. The album shoves meaning in an awkward position with no emphasis or even care for that meaning. Am I supposed to be influenced by apathetic lines? There's nothing wrong with a slow, controlled rap with the emotion not in the words alone but the voice as well. That's what rap has always been and that's what makes it so great. His samples are also half-ass. They're background noise that doesn't augment his lyrics. All in all this album might as well be a short list of poems because they aren't working when spoken and the samples don't cut it to call it hip-hop.
