How Permanent Is Your Salvation?
By David J. Stewart | October 2018
John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
The website at GetGod'sGift.org features the writings of Pastor Hank Lindstrom (1940-2008), the former pastor of the Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Lindstrom had taught at Moody Bible Institute as a Bible professor for 12 years, back when they were still doctrinally sound. One of my favorite MP3 sermons by Dr. Lindstrom is called, "How Permanent Is Your Salvation"...

Bowen's excellent book clarifying the Gospel, titled, "I Never Knew You: The Coming Horror Of The Great White Throne Judgment And How You Can Avoid It!," he mentions in his book that Dr. Lindstrom's sermon "How Permanent Is Your Salvation?" led him to the Lord ...

On page 16 of, "I Never Knew You," Michael Bowen states:
“One night, in late 2005, I found some articles written by Dr. Hank Lindstrom that freed me from so much of the bondage of counterfeit salvation. I then listened to Dr. Lindstrom’s sermon “How Permanent Is Your Salvation?” After hearing him preach Christ’s plan of salvation and after seeing in the bible for myself what Christ had said about it, I trusted Jesus alone, as my only hope of heaven.”

Amen! What a great testimony! Ever since I read this, and listened to the sermon for myself, I have done my best to promote the sermon and Brother Bowen's book.
The present pastor of Calvary Community Church is Dr. Ralph “Yankee” Arnold, and I can't get enough of his preaching. Like his predecessor Dr. Lindstrom, Pastor Arnold relentlessly goes after the satanic Lordship Salvation crowd, and upholds the simplicity and clarity of the Gospel. Here is a link to his daily chapel sermons at Florida Bible College, which I highly recommend...http://www.biblelineministries.org/av/audioarchive/listall.php

You absolutely love this YouTube sermon by Dr. Arnold, called, "Lordship Salvation: Caught Between Grace And Works!"...
In churches all across America, you'll find corrupt religious brochures in their tract display. You'll find unbiblical garbage about “turning from sinful ways” to be saved, and “committing your life to Christ” and “following Jesus,” none of which compromise the Gospel. Such corrupt religious junk hinders the lost from seeing the truth of the saving-Gospel of free grace...
“There is power in this
Gospel message. Most people just don't know how to
present it...
The clarity of the Gospel is what makes it easy for them to
believe.”
—Pastor Yankee Arnold, a quote from the excellent MP3 sermon titled,
“WHY
GRACE CAN SAVE THE WORST MAN!”
Sadly, I have confronted numerous Baptist pastors in a gentlemanly manner, letting them know that there were corrupt religious tracts in their church, but they were indifferent and didn't care. Such wicked men ought not be allowed behind any pulpit. One of the worst sins I see in this untoward generation today is ministers who approach the pastorate as a mere profession. Just so long as they get their next paycheck, they are content, while the Gospel is being obscured, the meaning of repentance is perverted, and the Word of God is corrupted! Consequently, countless churchgoers nowadays have churchianity without Christianity. Millions of people have been conned into living the Christian life without being born again, because of these ungodly pastors who don't care about THE TRUTH!
If your salvation is not permanent, then it is not God's salvation! The free gift of eternal life that God offers—through faith in the Good News (Gospel) of Jesus Christ crucified, buried and risen the third day—cannot be forfeited or lost once you have it. Literally, we are saved by God's righteousness, not our own inadequate self-righteousness. Philippians 3:9, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.” The very idea that turning away from sinful ways is necessary to receive the free gift of God, goes totally contrary to the Holy Scriptures! If you believe that murdering someone would result in the loss of your salvation, then you are not saved! Salvation is of the Lord. Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith.
The proper mindset of a saved person is that Jesus became the sacrifice for our sins on the cross, and He alone bore the weight, shame and punishment for our iniquities. Therefore, I have absolutely nothing to do with saving myself. My part is simply to believe. The life that I choose to live as a believer, good or bad, is an entirely separate matter of discipleship and rewards, which has nothing to do with receiving the free gift of forgiveness of sins and eternal life. When anyone adds human reformation to the grace of God, grace is canceled out. To be born-again, you must submit yourself wholly to the righteousness of God, which is by faith alone in Christ Jesus. Romans 10:3-4, “For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” The way to be saved is to simply get out of the way, and let God do the saving, all of it!
Anyone who insists that you must be willing to turn from your sins to be saved (as does cartoon evangelist Jack Chick, Bryan Denlinger, Ray Comfort, Paul Washer, John MacArthur and John Piper) is a bold-faced liar! Beware of anyone who says that you must be willing to change your sinful ways to be saved. That is not Biblical repentance, that is human reformation (manmade repentance). We read in Matthew 27:3 that Judas “repented” of his betrayal of the Son of God, but Judas still went to Hell. Judas even returned the thirty pieces of silver, amending his ways; but that is not how you get saved. False teachers who add a change of ways (works) to grace do so because they are confused on the Gospel. They are woefully ignorant of the truth. They are unsaved. They don't understand that it is God's Holy Spirit that changes a person once they are in Christ, and not a willingness to reform as a prerequisite to saving-faith. Salvation is without works. Ephesians 2:8-10, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Heresy abounds in churches today!
Eternal life and assurance of salvation are not separate doctrines. The only kind of life that God offers is eternal life.

END OF ARTICLE
Did you know that you don't have to ask Jesus to save you? God has already told you how to be saved, that is, by simply believing that His Son died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and raised up from the dead three days later. Christ raised up from the dead, which means that God the Father accepted His Son's payment for the sins of the world. Christ suffered on the cross so that we wouldn't have to suffer in a literal Hell forever. Amen! You don't have to bow your head to be saved. You don't have to pray. You don't have to do anything except believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and make that your only hope for Heaven!

Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith.
God will not save anyone who is trying to be saved, He will only save those who are trusting to be saved.
Religion is man trying to reach God
through human effort, but Christianity is
God trying to reach man by
the sacrifice of His only begotten Son on the cross.

“Salvation is based upon purely what Jesus Christ has done. And if you've trusted Jesus Christ here, you're saved forever! Nothing in your life, nothing in your death, angels, principalities, nothing—nothing in your future—could ever undo that relationship that has been made when you trusted Jesus Christ as Savior. And there are many people who are confused over this whole thing.” —Pastor Hank Lindstrom (1940-2008), a quote from the classic MP3 sermon titled, “How Permanent Is Your Salvation?”
“There are many people who name the name of Jesus Christ, who are not saved, because they're trusting in living the Christian life, or in their works, or in some efforts that they're doing, in order to obtain their salvation.” —Pastor Hank Lindstrom (1940-2008), a quote from the classic MP3 sermon titled, “How Permanent Is Your Salvation?”
