Can A Person Who Hates Jesus Ever Be Saved?
By David J. Stewart | November 2018
John 5:40, “And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.”
In our text verse, Jesus said “will not,” He didn't say “cannot.” Anyone can be saved at any time, if they want to be!
John 3:20, “For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.”
Love for sin hinders people from coming to Christ to be saved, “lest they be reproved” for their sins. The heathen world hates a righteous Savior. John 7:7, “The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.”
All we can do is pray for lost loved ones, keep loving them with God's unconditional love, and share the Gospel with them at every opportunity. The lost rich man went to Hell (Luke 16:19-31). He begged Abraham to send Lazarus from the dead to warn his five living brothers, lest they go to Hell (the place of torment) too. Abraham said if they won't hear Moses and the prophets (i.e., the Word of God), then nothing will get them saved.
Very few people ever get saved, because the Devil blinds them with religion, pride, intellectualism, fame, money and sin (2nd Corinthians 4:3-4). A disciple asked Jesus in Luke 13:23-24, “are there few that be saved?” Jesus replied that only a “few” people will enter into Heaven, but “many” will try. Most people are not saved, because they choose of their own free will to reject the dear Savior. Many people seek God through religion, trying to merit Heaven by their own goodness and human effort. They have been woefully deceived by Satan! The apostle Paul (formerly known as Saul) hated Jesus so much, that he broke down house doors, hauling Christians from Damascus back to Jerusalem to be prosecuted! It was upon this very road that the Lord Himself appeared unto Saul, and he was miraculously converted (Acts 9:1-5). Paul is Biblical proof that someone who hates Jesus Christ CAN still be saved. The most stubborn people oftentimes become the best Christians when they get saved, because they are stubborn!
The ONLY way to Heaven is by submitting wholly to God's righteousness through faith alone in the Lamb of God (John 1:29; Revelation 7:14). We are saved by resting completely (Hebrews 4:10-11) in Christ's sacrifice on the cross of Calvary, believing that He paid for our sins, was buried, and then miraculously resurrected from the dead three days later. That is the “GOOD NEWS” (Gospel), by which we are saved, if we believe (1st Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 1:16). Just take God at His record, as recorded in His inspired written Word!

Did you know that you don't have to ask Jesus to save you? God has already told you how to be saved, that is, by simply believing that His Son died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and raised up from the dead three days later. Christ raised up from the dead, which means that God the Father accepted His Son's payment for the sins of the world. Christ suffered on the cross so that we wouldn't have to suffer in a literal Hell forever. Amen! You don't have to bow your head to be saved. You don't have to pray. You don't have to do anything except believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and make that your only hope for Heaven!
“When America lost her way to the right kind of church, she lost her way to living right!”
(a truthful quote from the precious MP3 sermon by Brother Lester Roloff, “Titanic”)
“If your moral judgment is crooked and rotten, and you have no Bible conviction, when the conscience says, 'Do right!', you may do what your moral judgment said for you to do, and it's wrong! That's the reason we need Christian schools. That's the reason we need Christian homes, to teach our young people!”

Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith.

“Nothing in my future can ever affect the salvation that I have... Once you trust the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are eternally secure!” —Pastor Hank Lindstrom (1940-2008), a quote from the classic MP3 sermon titled, “How Permanent Is Your Salvation?”
“Salvation is based upon purely what Jesus Christ has done. And if you've trusted Jesus Christ here, you're saved forever! Nothing in your life, nothing in your death, angels, principalities, nothing—nothing in your future—could ever undo that relationship that has been made when you trusted Jesus Christ as Savior. And there are many people who are confused over this whole thing.” —Pastor Hank Lindstrom (1940-2008), a quote from the classic MP3 sermon titled, “How Permanent Is Your Salvation?”
“There are many people who name the name of Jesus Christ, who are not saved, because they're trusting in living the Christian life, or in their works, or in some efforts that they're doing, in order to obtain their salvation.” —Pastor Hank Lindstrom (1940-2008), a quote from the classic MP3 sermon titled, “How Permanent Is Your Salvation?”
