From My Heart
By David J. Stewart | July 2011
More than anything else that people have said to me over the years in e-mails is that they want to meet me in Heaven. Thank you to all my web visitors. You are my reward in Heaven. I love you all. 2nd Corinthians 3:2, “Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men.” I recorded the following video today using a pedal steel guitar and wanted to share it with others...
Here's the same song, with a slight variation. Each song comes out a little different...
I thank God for putting the desire into my heart to play the steel guitar, and for teaching me to do so. I went into a serious depression after my 2nd neck surgery made me worse in April of 2010—realizing that the tingling, burning, the puffed-up sensation in both arms, my right arm and leg feeling half asleep all the time, shooting pain down my limbs, relentless neck pain and stiffness—would be with my body for the rest of my life. All the king's horse and all the king's men couldn't put Humpty Dumpty back together again. That's what a felt like. I was overwhelmed and very depressed, having weird changes that I was going to have to learn to live with. One year after my 2nd surgery, I'm now just starting to accept the fact that I'm not going to get any better. It's been rough.
Someone(s) must be praying for me because I've made it this far alone. Faith in God is my only strength. It seems that the more I suffer the more God blesses my ministry, and for that I am so grateful to God. 2nd Corinthians 12:10, “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” God has strengthened me through all of this suffering. My depression has kept me praying. James 5:13a, “Is any among you afflicted? let him pray.” God is my strength!
The “Recent” section of my website is my pulpit, reaching hundreds of people each day (15,000 to 18,000 overall visitors daily to the website) with the truth, and so I rarely promote my music there. It's not about me, and never will be. My ministry is God's, and my recent section is to share with others what God lays upon my heart to help them. I take the privilege very seriously. Yet every once in a while I like to share my heart through music with others, which has been a big part of my life. I've been randomly making some steel guitar music videos for the past year to share with others.
My mother had a paralyzing stroke at age 52, after playing piano since age 4. For the last 13 years of her life she couldn't play piano anymore. On August 20, 2001 she went home to be with the Lord. Life is a gift from God and I thank Him for the remaining health that I have, even though I am afflicted daily.
A gentleman wrote to me some time ago and said that I am the voice of Independent Fundamental Baptists on the internet. Sad to say, I think he's right. I say “sad” because if more Christians took an uncompromising stand as I'm doing, then I wouldn't stand out like a sore thumb. Type in “homosexuality is a sin” on Google and my ministry comes up first. Type in “abortion is murder” on Google and my ministry comes up first. Type in “alcohol kills” on Google and my ministry comes up first. Praise God! I can only attribute all the influences and events of my life as having brought me to this place in life, in accordance with God's will, to where God is using my humble labors to reach tens-of-thousands of people for Christ and with the truth of what's really going on in this world.
I sat on the edge of my seat under the voice of my pastor, Dr. Jack Hyles', listening to his preaching for 8-years (1985-1993), having my heart and mind challenged to speak the truth. That's all I'm doing. I'm just a fox set on fire (like when Samson set a fox's tail on fire and loosed it to burn the Philistines fields). Preaching is truth set on fire Brother Hyles used to say. Someone was listening when Dr. Hyles preached.
Why are Christians so afraid to speak the truth in public? The wicked speak their minds. Every time people turn on the Godless TV, Satan is shouting loud and clear right in their faces. Why is it that every form of evil can be promoted publicly and shoved down children's throats in Communist government schools; but then Christians are told to shut up! The mainstream newsmedia are anti-family, anti-God, anti-national sovereignty; but wrap themselves in an American flag to deceive people. Tyranny always comes disguised as patriotism. The wicked say, “If you speak out against crimes in government, then you're not patriotic.” They're a bunch of liars! Nothing is as patriotic as exposing those treasonous traitors and criminals who are destroying our liberties, economy, job market, and national sovereignty.
I am grateful for the privilege to influence others for Christ with the truth. I give God all the praise, credit and honor. The truth has few friends these days. The Bible says let every man speak truth with his neighbor (Ephesians 4:25). This is the opportunity of a lifetime, which will not last. Internet censorship is just around the corner (and is already happening in many places). The internet has made it possible to reach millions of people with the truth electronically.
It is sickening that so many Christian leaders have the sorry attitude that America is sinful, therefore we get what we deserve, so they do absolutely nothing to expose nor change what's going on. Sadly, they are part of the problem. It is no different than if you see someone being mugged in public, and you walk away quickly to avoid any involvement. Is that what the Good Samaritan did? Is that what the Bible teaches? Are we supposed to remain silent, go along to get along, and attribute blatant crimes by our elected leaders as God's will? Certainly Americans are getting what we deserve for abandoning God, but that in no way excuses Christians from fighting against evil. Whereas Christianity ought to be ridding the world of Communism and tyranny; a counterfeit form of Christianity is being used as a means of achieving it by woeful apostates. Thankfully, God has provided the truth to those who still want it.
God is a good God. A faith must be tested. 1st Peter 1:7, “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.” Anyone can have faith in God during good health, prosperity and good times; but a faith is tested when there is tragedy, heartache and suffering... joy cometh in the morning. Psalms 30:5, “...weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
I sincerely ask for your continued prayers, whoever you may be. I need them much, for my health and this ministry.
From keeping up with world news, I sincerely believe that Christ's return is imminent. Everything in this world is fast headed toward world government, which means the Antichrist is coming to lead it. Jesus must return before that happens to remove the Church from the world, just as Noah and his family were removed before the flood, and lot and his family were removed before Sodom was destroyed. The Church will not go through the Tribulation Period, which will be a time of woeful sorrow and death in the world.
One day at a time.
