Can The Catholic Church Save Itself?
This was the cover title of the April 2002 issue of TIME Magazine. The article begins on page 28 and ends on page 40. The article begins by showing a picture of Father Rudy Kos and the boy he abused--Jay Lemberger (age 12). Jay shot himself dead at age 21, Father Kos received 3 life sentences in prison for sex abuse. The article goes on into depth on case after case of perverts within the Catholic religious system.
To show the influence of the church, the article also gives a breakdown of what percent of the population in each state is Catholic. Amongst those states ranking highest (over 30% Catholic) were: Wisconsin, Illinois, New York, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Delaware. Overall, the statistics reveal that a very large portion of the United states in Catholic.
The article also give a breakdown of the hierarchy of the Catholic Church authority, which I thought was interesting, as follows :
POPE: Head of the church, infallible in defining matters of faith and morals.
CARDINAL: appointed by the Pope, there are 178 Cardinals worldwide (13 in the U. S.)
ARCHBISHOP: also called an archdiocese. A Cardinal can hold the archdiocese title. There are 45 archbishops in the U.S.
BISHOP: a teacher of church doctrine, a priest of sacred worship and a minister of church government. The U. S. has 290 active bishops.
PRIEST: an ordained minister who can administer more of the sacraments.
DEACON: one who studies for the priesthood.
The question has been asked, "Can the Catholic church save itself?" The answer friend is "yes" and" no." Yes, in the sense that Satan is the god of this world and all his false religions will continue to thrive. No, in the sense that only Jesus Christ can save, not the church, not any church. If you try to enter heaven "some other way" apart from God's Son, then you are a thief. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber" (John 10:1). Jesus is the only door into heaven! "I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture" (John 10:9).
The Catholic church claims the the Pope is "INFALLIBLE" on all matters of faith and morals. May I say, the Pope is a dope and he has no hope. Why do I say that? Because ONLY THE WORD OF GOD IS INFALLIBLE. 1 Peter 1:23 says, "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." God's Word is incorruptible, you can't change it! Oh sure, you can pervert it, but then it not God's Word anymore! All the new perverted bibles on the market today are NOT God's Word. However, this does not change the eternal Word of God. You can believe a lie if you want to, but I choose to know the truth. The truth is the King James Bible. The Pope is not infallible, he is a SINNER, and a big one at that. "For all have SINNED and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). The Pope is woefully wrong to claim to be infallible on all matters of faith and morals. Only God and His Word can make such a claim.
The main reason I wrote this article was to answer the question, Can the Catholic church save itself? The Bible shouts an emphatic answer--"NO!" Why? Because ONLY JESUS CHRIST can save anyone. NO church can save you--only Jesus. The priest can pray over you all he wants to and you'll still wind up in hell if you don't get born-again. Religion won't do it friend. You need to be born-again; that is, to have He Who is the Beginning born in you.
The Catholic church disregards the Bible. They exploit it to their own advantages when it's convenient to do so, but ultimately the Bible has no bearing on the decisions they make. The proof of this is in their hundreds of man-made traditions which have no Scriptural basis. Can all these man-made traditions save? No sir, they cannot! Can the Catholic church save itself? Impossible! Jesus said in John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GOD!
