Iris DeMent Sings for Satan

By David J. Stewart

Matthew 6:15, “But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Iris DeMent (born January 5, 1961) is a shameful American singer and songwriter. DeMent supports the feminist agenda through her music. DeMent's musical style encompasses the genres country, Gospel, and folk music. Iris was three years old when the family moved from Paragould, Arkansas to Orange County, California, where as a teen she discovered she was in conflict with much of what was being taught in church and left. At 17 she quit high school, got a GED and went to work at K-Mart. DeMent married Elmer McCall in 1991, but the marriage subsequently ended in divorce. She married singer-songwriter Greg Brown on November 21, 2002.

Iris DeMent's is featured in Steven Spielberg's movie TRUE GRIT at the end, singing the Gospel hymn, On The Everlasting Arms. Anytime Hollywood features someone's Gospel singing, you can rest assure that something is very wrong spiritually in that singer's life. Hollywood rewards the wicked and will not promote anyone who truly loves God.

Iris DeMent sings one of the most evil songs ever written (see lyrics below), more vile than ACDC's HIGHWAY TO HELL or BACK IN BLACK. I have more respect for open Satan worshippers, than I do for anyone who promotes and glorifies hatred and unforgiveness through their music. DeMent may not have written the song, but she has popularized it. Feminists love DeMent's hateful song. DeMent sings the heathen song, GOD MAY FORGIVE YOU (BUT I WON'T). That's too bad for Iris DeMent and every self-righteous hypocritical woman like her that follows her advice in the song, because the Bible teaches that God won't forgive those who refuse to forgive. Matthew 18:35, “So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.”

You say that you're born again
cleansed of your former sins
You want me to say "I forgive and forget"
But you've done too much to me
Don't you be touching me,
go back and touch all those women you've met

Chorus:
'cause God may forgive you, but I won't
Yes, Jesus loves you, but I don't
They don't have to live with you, we'll neither do I
You say that you're born again, well so am I
God may forgive you, but I won't
and I won't even try

Well, the kids had to cry for you
I had to try to do
things that the Dad should do
since you've been gone
Well, you really let us down
You may be Heaven-bound
but you've left one hell of a mess here at home

(chorus)

God may forgive you but I won't, and I won't even try

Regardless of whatever excuse DeMent may make, the bottom line is that her music promotes a spirit of self-righteous hypocrisy and unforgiveness. The song exemplifies the hateful, one-sided, biased, hypocritical attitude of hundreds-of-millions of rebellious feminists who condemn husbands and fathers for everything, while looking-the-other-way when it comes to slacker wives and mothers who don't clean their home, don't love their husbands, nor do they take responsibility for their family's needs.

I triple-dog dare you to show me even one, even one, song that exposes lazy, lackadaisical, lying, loafing, good-for-nothing women who sit at home—bums, while their husbands pay all the bills and shoulder the family's burdens. Iris DeMent sings that God may forgive you, “BUT I WON'T EVEN TRY” she says. That's so evil. She won't even try? The Bible calls that wickedness in the highest regard. Jesus plainly taught that those who refuse to forgive WON'T BE FORGIVEN either. Matthew 6:15, “But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Jesus warned in John 10:35 that “the Scripture cannot be broken.” God means what He says. Consider yourself warned.

I'm so sick of God-hating feminists portraying men as abusers, and women as victims. The children are used as a wildcard by feminists, as a weapon against their own fathers. Feminist women scrutinize men for everything fault they have, while totally ignoring the fact that women are EQUALLY sinners in God's eyes. Feminism is often rooted in self-righteous hypocrisy. Jesus taught in Matthew 7:3-5 that anyone who points fingers is a hypocrite. I hear so many women bad-mouthing their former husband, but I never heard those women confess any of their own sins or faults. Feminism turns women into self-righteous monsters, holding men to an impossible expectation. Feminism has taught women to become intolerant of less-than-perfect men (and they're all less-than-perfect). Feminism has women so indoctrinated that they're freezing their eggs while waiting for Mr. Right. This is insane!!!

Feminism Has Women Freezing Eggs (endlessly searching for the non-existent Mr. Right)

Hell will be hot for feminists who spit in God's face and divorce, remarry in adultery, condemn their husbands, and spew hatred throughout life against their husband. The Bible teaches that you can tell if someone is of the Devil by their hatred. It sure sounds like pure hatred to me when Iris DeMent sings that she can't forgive. 1st John 3:10, “In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.” What a horrible, terrible, and malicious song that iris DeMent sings... GOD MAY FORGIVE YOU (BUT I WON'T). Well, then the Bible teaches that God will not forgive Iris, nor anyone who follows in her foolish advice. She hypocritically sings Gospel songs, while she sings for the Devil too.

I've never heard such a horrible song in all my life, teaching women to harbor hatred against their husband for his sins. Galatians 6:1, “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.” A wife who is right with God would never sing, nor agree with the hateful message of Iris DeMent's song. I realize that Iris didn't write the song, but people see her face and hear her voice when they're listening to the song, or watching the YouTube video.

God WILL (not may) forgive you for your sins (Isaiah 1:18). And God will forgive Iris too, because she's also a sinner. Women who bad-mouth and criticize their husbands are clearly not right with God. You don't go around broadcasting your souse's sins if you love them. Furthermore, if you understand the holiness of God, then you realize that you're a sinner too. You'd better be careful whoever you may be about casting stones at someone else, because you are a sinner too. People categorize sins and pick-n-choose which ones they think are the worst; but God hates all sin, including feminist's arrogance and evil pride.

Many Americans no longer consider public nudity (bathing suits), pornography, abortion, drunkenness, wild partying, divorce, false religion, casino gambling, cursing, dirty-jokes, Harry Potter's witchcraft, the lies of Evolution, or homosexuality a sin; but God hates all of those wicked sins. I don't care how good you may think you are, you are a dirty, rotten, filthy, guilty, hell-deserving, sinner!!! (James 2:10; Romans 3:10,19,23; Isaiah 64:6). Ephesians 1:7 and 4:32, “In whom we have redemption through his [Jesus Christ's] blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace... And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.” If God is willing to forgive your wretched hide, then so can you forgive anyone. Jesus taught to forgive not 7 times; but rather, 70 times 7 times (unlimited forgiveness).

Yet, Iris sings concerning forgiveness... BUT I WON'T! I warn you, whoever you may be, God says in the Bible that He will not forgive you if you don't forgive others. Matthew 18:35, “So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.” Iris DeMent sings religious songs; but she doesn't sing for God. Don't be fooled! There is no Christianity in hatred. Iris claims that she is born-again in her song. That is a lie, for the Bible teaches, “Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him” (1st John 3:15). Shame on Iris for singing such an evil song. The Bible is not saying that a murderer cannot be saved; but rather, the Bible is speaking about present sin in your heart. Iris goes around singing this evil filth, encouraging women not to forgive, which can only leads to divorce (which God hates, Jeremiah 3:20).

I do not condemn Iris DeMent for anything; I am simply exposing her sinful teaching in her song, GOD MAY FORGIVE YOU (BUT I WON'T). She ought to be ashamed of herself. Everyone makes mistakes, but her song is deliberate, ongoing, and she has no remorse for it's sinful message. Unforgiveness is of the Devil, and the Bible teaches that in 2nd Corinthians 7:10-11, “...for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ; Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” Unforgiveness is a powerful weapon of Satan. The question is: Are you foolish enough to listen to Iris DeMent's sinful advice in her music, or are you going to fear God by obeying the Bible and forgiving others? We are commanded to forgive others; not spew hatred in songs like, GOD MAY FORGIVE YOU (BUT I WON'T)

...and in the lyrics to the song she states: AND I WON'T EVEN TRY!

The truth is that God WILL forgive you (John 3:16), and so will I, and so should you if you're right with God. Shame on anyone who sings about refusing to forgive someone, indicting and condemning them (which only God has a right to do). James 5:9, “Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.” James 4:12: “There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another” Who art thou to judge another?

“Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.” —1st Corinthians 10:21
