(Listen to the King James Bible while
working, resting, or sleeping. I can't recommend listening to the
King James Bible enough.)
One of the greatest blessings in my life is hearing the Words of God on DVD. I have learned so much from hearing the Bible. Alexander Scourby's voice is my favorite (but you can even get James Earl Jones [aka, Darth Vader] reading the King James Bible as well, and a few others). I cannot tell you how much I have been blessed, how much I have learned and how awesome it is to listen to the entire Old Testament with the click of a button. Today I found the lowest price so far on the DVD (1 disk) and MP3 (3 disks) set together at the Sword Of The Lord. That is awesome!
I read a sad statistic this week in an article titled, HAS AMERICA LOST ITS WAY?; (THE GOOD NEWS magazine; July-August, 2012; pg.26) saying that 46% of Americans only read their Bible once or twice a year). Can anyone honestly ask why America has gone to hell morally when nearly half of all Americans don't even read the Bible?
Listen to this awesome Scripture in 1st Samuel 3:1, “And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.” I love that... THE WORD OF THE LORD WAS PRECIOUS IN THOSE DAYS!!! It's s shame that the Word of God is not precious to Americans today. The same article I just mention states that 63% of Americans couldn't name more than half of the Ten Commandments. Is it any wonder why our country is so spiritually bankrupt? Most people couldn't care less about the Bible. My friend, 1st Peter 1:23 says that the Word of God is the very seed by which we are born-again in Christ Jesus. Psalms 138:2 says that God magnifies His Word above all His name. Yet, 46% of Americans read the Bible once or twice a year at most.
You † Bible (Bible App - the King James Bible read by Alexander Scourby)
There is a wonderful way to get more of the Bible into our mind and heart, and that is by hearing it spoken to us. It is a great gift for your loved ones too. And you Christian mothers will absolutely love the Alexander Scourby audio King James Bible because it'll help your babies go to sleep. The mellifluous (pleasing to the ear) and manly voice of Alexander Scourby will help your babies sleep in tranquility—hearing that steady, calm, peaceful, soothing, voice reading the holy Scriptures to your children. Can you top that?
You can hear the King James Bible for free online, but it is only one chapter each mouse click, which is really impractical (having to click on every single chapter to hear it). Buy the DVD, it's one of the best investments that you'll ever make if you listen to it. Also, some of the free online audio versions aren't as good, having a chirp or whistle when the reader pronounces certain words. Alexander Scourby has a precise voice, eloquent, and a gift from the Lord. In my opinion, Alexander Scourby's voice is the only voice that's not irritating to listen to for several hours. Please get the Bible on DVD by Alexander Scourby and listen to the Bible on a regular basis. You can go to numerous places online to get it.
Make sure that there's no music, just the Bible. There's different DVD's available, some with music, others with visual scenes. They're good to get, but make sure you just get the audio King James Bible if nothing else. I can't tell you how powerful this tool is to help you learn the Bible and be blessed from hearing it.
With the Alexander Scourby DVD, you can listen to the entire Old or New Testament with one click (really nice). You can also choose any Book and play the rest of the Old Testament (or New Testament) from that point. I put the DVD in my computer and just let it play 24 hours a day. I turn the volume up when I want to hear it, or down to silence it. This way I can hear the Bible at any time in just a second or two. I love hearing the Bible. I have learned so much. The King James Bible is awesome to play in the background while cleaning, cooking, working, sitting outside, working on your computer, et cetera. While I'm working, Scriptures jump out at me and the Holy Spirit gives me ideas for articles.
Since I have permanent health afflictions and my neck hurts really bad on a daily basis, I need to take my medications and frequently lay down for a while. I listen to the King James Bible while laying down. It is so beautiful. I love the knowledge of God in the Book of Job. I absolutely love the incredible story of Esther. Did you know that God is not mentioned even once in Esther? Yet we see God's hand at work behind the scenes. I can relate to David's broken and crushed heart in the Psalms. I love the minor prophets and the awesome book of Genesis. I love them all! There's no Book that I don't love. Each is unique and special.
I learned yesterday that Joseph's brothers never sold him into slavery. All these years I thought that Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery. They had intended to do so, but they never got the chance. Joseph's ten brothers had thrown him into a pit and left him without water to die, but Judah suggested selling Joseph to the Ishmeelites instead, who were going to Egypt. Rueben came back to the pit and Joseph was gone, so Rueben rent his clothes. Genesis 37:28, “Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.” It was the Midianites who found Joseph in the pit and sold him into slavery, while Joseph's brothers were elsewhere deciding his fate.
Joseph's brothers never knew what had happened to Joseph until over a dozen years later when they were in Egypt. Joseph was sold into slavery at age 17 (Genesis 37:2) and became governor over Egypt at age 30 (Genesis 41:46). Likely, Joseph spent about 10-years in prison. We learn in Psalms that Joseph was tortured in prison. Psalms 105:17-18, “He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant: Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron.”
Hearing the Bible shouldn't replace reading and studying the Bible regularly, but it's a great place to start. In today's hectic world it is more challenging to search the Scriptures. A mother with a husband and kids has her hands full. She can listen to the Bible while cooking, cleaning or driving. You can listen to the Bible while traveling in your car.
To be truthful, I do sometimes get tired of hearing Alexander Scourby's voice, because I listen to it so much. That's normal to feel that way. I am always listening to a variety of online preaching, the Bible on DVD, YouTube documentaries, Alex Jones' radio at Infowars.com for alternative news, PrisonPlanet, BBC world news, et cetera. So by not listening to the Audio Bible too much, it doesn't become irritating. I usually flip back 'n' forth between religious radio and the King James Bible DVD in my vehicle. Anybody would get tired of anything if they heard it continually. I love Hawaiian music, but after three days in Hawaii I was sick of hearing it. There are different narrators available, perhaps you'd like a different voice. James Earl Jones (the voice of Darth Vader) has a DVD available reading the King James Bible. Albeit, I like Alexander Scourby best. I love listening to the King James Bible being read.
Certainly, we should at times study our Bible, giving our undivided attention to what we are reading; but hearing the Word of God is a big benefit because you can hear the Bible while relaxing, working, or even sleeping. For some people with eyesight problems, hearing the Bible on DVD is a great blessing to receive God's Word.
Sometimes I Listen To The Bible While Resting Or Sleeping
Sometimes I like to hear the King James Bible while sleeping. I usually fall off to sleep from the soothing voice (not good if driving). But it's important that the voice agrees with you or you might have nightmares or not be able to sleep. Not everyone can sleep while there is background sound. Sometimes I can't either. I recommend trying what works for you. I don't always play the Bible while sleeping. Truthfully, sometimes I get tired of hearing Alexander Scourby's voice because I listen to it so much. I guess that's a good thing. I give it a rest for a few days and then listen again. I'm going to get the King James Bible by James Earl Jones (and another gentleman too) and that'll provide some diversity in sounds. I love Alexander Scourby, but I've heard him hundreds of times.
The human mind is incredibly powerful. Hollywood and television are continually putting garbage and subliminal thoughts into people's minds. Honestly, I'm not sure if the human brain discerns or benefits from hearing the Bible while sleeping, but I'm confident it does. The volume is important. You don't want the volume loud enough to wake you up or keep you from sleeping, but I like to set it where I can at least understand what is being said, so I can listen attentively while falling off to sleep.
The human mind is extremely impressionable, which is why satanists have put all sorts of demonic influences in television, movies, on our dollars bill, and music today. It's an occultists fiesta! If the human brain can grasp messages played backwards in songs, then I'm thinking there's a better than likely chance that the human brain can grasp what's been said while sleeping.
On nights when I'm sad or lonely I usually don't play the Bible, because I have nightmares. If I've had a nice day, then I'll perhaps listen to the Bible while sleeping. It's the voice and the rough inflections at times that I think triggers nightmares. I've been having them lately. I woke up crying the other morning. Nightmares seem so real. Granted, I've been taking Oxycontin, Oxycodone, Ambien and Lyrica at night too, so that definitely plays a role. I've also been very sad lately over the spiritual fall of preachers, fighting amongst God's children and just tired overall. I am afflicted with chronic toothache-like pain in my neck round-the-clock, never a painless moment. I've been listening to a lot of preaching lately because I need it. Please keep me in your prayers. 1st Thessalonians 5:25, “Brethren, pray for us.”
I like Alexander Scourby's voice. There are a few different DVD products available, with varying features on the DVD disks. The first link I gave you at the top of this webpage is to BaptistInk.com (for the 2 DVD's, which is all I use on my computer); but the following is to the Sword Of The Lord who carry either 53 tapes, 62 regular CD's for radio or 6 MP3 disks. Personally I'd rather have one DVD disk, which unfortunately the Sword doesn't list anymore on their website as of August 2012. Here's some other products that they carry by Alexander Scourby...

Alexander Scourby Reading the King James Bible (full Old and New Testament)
It's interesting when you hear the Bible. Sometimes hearing something causes you to see it differently than reading it. I doubt if even one out of a hundred Christians read their Bible through every 5-years; but by hearing the Bible, you can hear it all every month. It takes about 70-hours to hear the entire Bible. Hearing is much easier than reading. Let's be honest, reading is work, and most people aren't very ambitious when it comes to reading the Bible. I'm not encouraging anyone not to read their Bible; I'm simply saying that it would be better to listen to the King James Bible than not read it at all. Many people who won't read the King James Bible WILL listen to it.
I think it's a great tool and wanted to share it with others. Do as the Lord leads, but I think every Christian could benefit from hearing the Bible on DVD. The DVD displays the Scriptures that are being read, so you can read along if you'd like. I just like hearing it in the background and at night on low volume while I'm sleeping. You can listen to the entire Old Testament with a click (or New Testament). There are two disk, one for the Old Testament and the other for the New Testament.
Please do NOT listen to any Bible other than the preserved, inspired, inerrant, infallible King James Bible (see chart). I mean this, I'd rather listen to Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto in my sleep than to hear the New International Version (NIV) or the NIV 2011 perversion of the Bible. Don't allow your mind to be corrupted with modern corrupt Bibles. English is going to be the universal language of the End Times and the Lord knew that, which is why He gave us the inspired King James Bible for these Last Days. There will never be another Bible translation in English. The King James Bible is it!!!
God's Word is a Gift Revealing to Us God's Plan, Purpose and Will
Amen and thank God for the precious gift of His Word. God could have left us in the dark, wondering what His plans are; but God has told us everything. Prophecy is history written in advance. Unlike esoteric Secret Societies which limit knowledge and require men to advance the occult ladder to be enlightened; God has given to all men the Bible, for “no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation” (2nd Peter 1:20). Whether poor or rich, sick or healthy, dumb or intellectual; God wrote the Bible to all men. God is no respecter of persons (Romans 2:11).
We've all seen the Masonic pyramid with the All Seeing Eye (see the back of a one dollar bill, pictured to the right). Hundreds of books have been written trying to explain what it means, but if you believe the Bible then you already know what it means. 2nd Corinthians 4:4 teaches that Satan is the god of man's sinful world; but 1st Corinthians 10:26 says, “For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.”
God is still on His throne, in full control. As God-fearing Christians we need never fear the Devil or what evil men can do to us. 1st John 4:4, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” This verse means that every born-again believer has the Holy Spirit indwelling them. Romans 8:9 calls the Holy Spirit “the Spirit of Christ.”
Satan is the god of this evil world, who has been trying to unite mankind in rebellion against God since the tower and city of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9). God scattered men across the earth and confounded them by changing their languages (Genesis 11:7-9). There are 7,000 known languages in the world today. Due to the industrial revolution of the 19th century and the invention of modern technologies in the 20th century, Satan once again is able to unite the masses of this world against God. Television more than anything else has made this possible, and now the internet. Certainly, the Lord's return is nearer than ever.
By the Scriptures we know what the eye in the capstone of the pyramid means, representing Lucifer, the angel of light (2nd Corinthians 11:14). Tens-of-thousands of woefully ignorant men are Freemasons, errantly thinking they are members of a noble and sincere organization. They are misled, “BLINDED” by the god of this world as 2nd Corinthians 4:4 teaches.
Ah, but we see and do know as Christians what the unsaved world and 95% of Freemasons don't know, that is, Satan is “the god of this world.” The Antichrist is coming. That is the mystery behind all Secret Societies today. It's that simple. They are setting the stage for the man of sin to come. The gurus of New Age, Maitreya, and the New World Order are in contact with demons, instructing the architects of the NWO what to do next. It's no mystery to born-again, Bible-believing Christians what is happening in the world today.
The little man behind the curtain, working the controls of “THE GREAT OZ” of the New World Order is Lucifer. Isaiah 14:14-16, “I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms.” The Devil is a twerp, a nothing, a wimp, a coward hiding behind symbols and images of the occult; but Jesus said in John 18:20: “I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.”
The Bible is a wonderful gift from God, as a friend telling us what's going to happen next. We can know the future. There are no secrets with God concerning how to be saved. Eternal life is a free gift, paid for by Jesus' precious blood (1st Peter 1:18-190. The Bible tells us exactly what God's expects of us. Isn't that wonderful? What peace to know exactly what God wants from us. We all have 24 hours in a day and the same Bible and Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth. John 16:13, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and HE WILL SHEW YOU THINGS TO COME.”
I love the Bible and thank God for giving to us so many answers. It's hard to believe that so many people despise and hate the Bible. They just don't realize what they are doing. To those of us who do believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, He is so very precious (1st Peter 2:7). With all the filth in society, our decadent culture of death, ecumenical apostasy, and the trashy music being aired everywhere we go these days, we need all the Bible we can get.
I guarantee you that if you'll listen to the Bible on DVD, you'll learn more Bible and be blessed more than you could have imagined. I have been blessed so much by listening to the Bible on DVD. I have heard Scriptures that I'd never noticed before, often opening my Bible to read what I just heard. You'll do the same, being amazed hearing things that you'd never noticed before in the Bible. It is a wonderful tool. By listening to the Bible, you can just sit back and totally relax while listening. When you're reading you are working, but when you're listening, you can focus 100% on the Scriptures. I can't recommend getting the Bible on DVD enough. You will be blessed.
1st Corinthians 15:57, “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

“God Himself became a Man, to give mankind a concrete, definite, tangible idea of what kind of Person to think of when we think of God. God is like Jesus. Jesus was God incarnate in human form. His appearance on earth is the Central Event of all history. The Old Testament sets the stage for it. The New Testament describes it. As a man, He lived the most strangely Beautiful Life ever known. He was the Kindest, Tenderest, Gentlest, most Patient, most Sympathetic man that ever lived. He Loved people. He hated to see people in trouble. He loved to Forgive. He loved to Help. He wrought marvelous miracles to feed hungry people. For relieving the suffering He forgot to take food for Himself. Multitudes, weary, pain-ridden, and heart-sick, came to Him, and found healing and relief. It is said of Him, and of no other, that if all the deeds of Kindness that He did were written, the world would not contain the books. That is the kind of man Jesus was. That is the kind of Person God is. Then: He Died, on the Cross, to take away the Sin of the world, to become the Redeemer and Saviour of man. Then: He Rose from the Dead: is Alive Now: not merely an historical character, but a Living Person: the Most Important Fact of History, and Most Vital Force in the world today.” —Theologian Henry H. Halley (1874-1965)
