Worldly Christians

by David J. Stewart

"And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful." —Mark 4:18,19

Before I begin, let me say that I am a Christian myself. I am not writing this article to be unkind to anyone, but simply to point out that America is going to Hell and we need to do something about it as believers. There is something that each of us can do to make a difference for God.

Tragically, it is difficult to find a truth-seeking church nowadays. The average church is nothing more than a 501c3 business. I understand why more and more people are starting their own home churches, instead of going to church. So many believers have been brainwashed to think that the Church is a building. The New Testament Christians met in each other's homes. They had no big building with plush carpeting, air-conditioning and stained-glass windows. Jesus said that the Kingdom of God is within us (Luke 17:21).

It would be a blessing if all the Christians in America would stop going to church and start their own small soulwinning groups in their homes. I realize such thinking makes some people angry, especially the pastors who profit from churches; but America's churches today are apostate, more interested in making money than genuinely getting souls saved.

I recently visited a church, where the guest missionary speaker was begging for money. There were about 500 people in the congregation. He said, “I know you folks normally give generously, but I need you to give until it hurts to help missions.” Three weeks later, 20 of the church's members spent a whopping $100,000 total to take a trip to the Holy Land. It's that kind of inconsistency that drives many people away from church. It makes me upset when pastors hound the working man for money, money, money, and then extravagantly pamper themselves with luxurious vacations, a new car, a beautiful home, the best of dinning, et cetera. God's men should set the standard and live a menial lifestyle as a humble servant of the Lord.

If we as Christians don't fight against the evils of our day, then who will? So many pastors are AFRAID to raise any commotion in their congregations or "rock the boat" for fear of losing financial support. I thank God that I do not have to kiss up to anyone to say what needs to be said on this website. I give you the truth! I don't make any money doing this and never plan to. I have turned down umpteen offers for donations. I've never accepted even one penny. I do what I do only in Jesus' name. I do what I do for God in an attempt to wake people up and proclaim the truth to all.

Neo-evangelical Churches

The truth is that we have churches all across America filled with Christians who are sitting-on-the-premises instead of standing-on-the-promises (as the song goes). These are the believers who sit on their blessed assurance, filling 18-inches of pew every Sunday, but never make a difference for God. These are often self-righteous churchgoers who condemn other people for their sins, faults and shortcomings; while overlooking their own sins. They have churchianity more than anything.

I was in a church recently for their Wednesday evening prayer meeting. They had a long list of things to pray about. I noticed that they prayed every week about "The abortion issue" as they called it. Now I'm not against prayer. As a matter of fact, prayer is the most important thing we do as Christians. Prayer is not preparation for the greater work, prayer is the greater work. Jesus never taught His disciples to preach, but He taught them all to pray. We must pray, it is not optional to the obedient Christian life. However, I couldn't help but ponder over how ridiculous it was for these Christians to be praying about the "abortion issue," while never lifting a finger to do something about it themselves.

The average churchgoer is a pacifist like their deadbeat pastor. America DIDN'T just fall out of the sky into our founding father's hands? Truthfully, they fought 'til the death in many cases to secure their freedom (and ours). They picked up deadly weapons and went to war. The least we can do is protest evils in society and government today (which is our 1st Amendment RIGHT).

God deliver us from this new (neo) form of pseudo-Christianity that doesn't require anyone to carry a cross. Jesus said, "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me" (Matthew 16:24). The Apostle Paul declared in 2nd Timothy 3:12, "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution." The BEST Christians are also the most persecuted as well. Why? It's because people don't like the truth, and a good Christian won't remain silent concerning the truth. The church in Acts is our example to follow—they either caused revival or riot. Many of the early believers were martyred.

In fact, Jesus was crucified for preaching the truth. If Jesus had done nothing, then no one would have cared, no one would have became angry... and no one would have been saved either. Jesus spoke the truth, causing people to either love Him or hate Him. It's been nearly 2,000 years since Jesus walked this earth, and His enemies still speak all manner of evil against His holy name. If people are still condemning the Lord Jesus 2,000 years later (Who was perfect and sinless in every way), then prey tell me, what do you think our enemies will do to us? The world is a jungle today.

We've got too many make-believers, and not enough soulwinning believers. I'd rather stay home from church and go soulwinning, then to sit idle in a church pew somewhere and play the game of church. God deliver us from the apostasy of our generation. It's tragic when people are having to leave church to find God.

Churches are filled today with professed Christians who attend services every Sunday, sing in a choir, carry a Bible, put some money into an offering plate, et cetera. They call each other "brother" and "sister" and know all the religious lingo. Unfortunately, they would never stick their neck out and stand against the evils of our day. America is going to Hell folks! It's frustrating to realize that the average Christian is doing absolutely NOTHING to make a difference for God. We need to get MAD (Make A Difference!).

Christians in communities all across America should be protesting against abortion. You can save lives! A real good way to convince a mother not to get an abortion is to use signs with photos of aborted babies. A picture truly is worth a thousand words. Go to http://www.antiabortionsigns.com/catalog.html. We, as Christians, also need to expose the Homosexuality Agenda for the evil it is.

Whether you are homosexual and want a gay church, or you'd like to march in your church's PRO-abortion parade, there's a church for you! In fact, there's even a church for you atheists. The Unitarian Universalist churches boasts of 18% of its members being atheist. Whatever is your delight, there's an apostate church for you! You'll find me passing out Gospels of John and soulwinning.

We Need Revival

Even Christian Bible colleges across America have become a major disappointment. Too many Bible colleges are simply out to make a buck! They dip their sails, compromise their standards, hire people with degrees from heathen universities (to add "prestige" to their academic board)... it's apostasy!

We need new Christian colleges who aren't trying to increase their attendance at the expense of moral standards and the precious King James Bible. A "Christian" college generally becomes more popular as they move towards the left and add secular courses to their curriculum. The first sign of a Bible college going down the tubes is when they start offering secular courses. Eventually the secular courses outnumber the "Christian" courses. Eventually, you end up with a heathen university like the University of Chicago which was started by a Baptist preacher over a hundred years ago.

We need a generation of young Christian people who are serious about serving God. You'd be surprised how many young Christian people are more concerned about having a miniature-golf-course or an ice cream parlor at Bible college than they are about saving America.

I think Christian colleges would be wise to filter out the wrong kind of students by removing the "lures" that so many of them are using today to increase their attendance. It's sad that once great Bible colleges have become so desperate for money. I won't mention any names in this article (or any other) because I will not fight against my Baptist brethren. However, the issue needs to be addressed by someone.

It is sad when a Bible college advertises to the parents of prospective students that there are many "jobs" awaiting graduates. "Jobs?" Is that what everything boils down to? Money? Yes, that is the sad truth today. Everything is about money, money, money. Shame on any Christian college that uses the lure of "jobs" to attract parents to enroll their kids there. If that's all that matters, than you ought to close your doors, because you're days are numbered anyway as a "Christian" college. Mark my words, the next thing you'll see happen is an abandonment of the precious King James Bible.

Christians with Wrong Priorities

1st Timothy 6:10, "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Money should never be an issue!

Unfortunately, money means everything to most people nowadays. Money should never be an issue when a young person is considering going to Bible college. If you want to make money, then go to a heathen state university and get an accredited degree, but don't exploit God to get a job.

If you want a real job, then you need an accredited degree. If you want to serve God, then money should not be an issue. Bible colleges should get out of the middle of the road. Either you're going to train young Christian people to serve God, or else you're just going to take people's money and become an employment agency. There is no middle ground. If you compromise your convictions to gain students, then your institution's days are numbered. It's time for Christian leaders to get right with God and repent of their focus on money. If people need to be laid off, then so be it, but a Bible college should not promise financial gain to prospective students to boost their attendance.

I am just a nobody with a website, a voice crying in cyberspace; but at least I'm not trying to sell God for financial gain. I don't ever want anyone to question my motives behind my labors in the Lord. Not many people would put up with all the harassment, slander, hate, defamation, lies and malicious enemies I've endured to build this ministry (and never get paid a dime). Yet, I'd do it all again for my precious Lord, Jesus Christ. I take no credit for anything. It is God's grace that has brought me safe thus far, and God's grace will lead me home.

I didn't start this ministry because people thought well of me, and I certainly am not going to quit because people think I'm scum. I am scum, and I'll be the first to admit it, and so are you, which is why we all deserve to burn in Hell forever (Romans 3:10-23). If you're looking for a sinner, you've found the biggest one right here. Galatians 6:3, “For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.” As my pastor once said, “I don't have an inferiority complex, but I know I'm inferior.” My righteousness rests solely in Jesus Christ and His work of redemption.

So many churches today are more concerned about an upcoming banquet, or a musical cantata, than they are about seeking out and proclaiming the truth.

They dare not expose any government evils, or the treason behind of 911, lest they lose all their support. They're just playing church, bringing in the money, while America has been overtaken by criminal thugs who don't think twice about sending out your child as a paid mercenary to die for their selfish agendas

I am so disgusted with what we call "Christianity" today. Folks, Christianity is all about TRUTH, and getting the truth out to the people. Ephesians 5:11 commands us, "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." And Psalm 94:16 couldn't be any more clear... "Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

God deliver us from the cowardly, weak-kneed, ignorant, closet, covetous, compromised type of pseudo-Christianity that is so prevalent today, even in our Independent Fundamental Baptist Churches. It's time for you to wake up and join the raging battle, because America is fast becoming a police state. Is it nothing to you?

Walk With God

Let's stop sitting-on-the-premises and start-standing-on-the-promises of our Savior! Churches all across America need to hang up signs (each and every day of the year) proclaiming that abortion is murder, homosexuality is sin, God loves people, et cetera. But to be frank, most of the work of God is not done by churches, it's done by individual Christians. A church congregation rarely rises above the spirituality of its pastor.

I would be ashamed to be a pastor in any community and fail to make some people mad. Why? Because the truth makes some people mad and a Godly Christian will make someone mad sooner or later (probably sooner!). This is exactly why Jesus said that He DIDN'T come to bring peace; but rather, a sword (Matthew 10:34). Luke 12:53, “The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.” The truth divides! I've known many people whose own families rejected them as an outcast for becoming a born-again Christian. This is particularly true of Roman Catholic families, who are very resentful of Biblical Christianity.

My life is a ministry. What I do online is just a part of my ministry for God. I keep a box of hundreds of Gospels of John in my car and give them away to people everywhere I go. I have John 3:16 printed on all my checks. I give money ($10 or $20) to the poor, when I can, along with a Gospel of John. I know my days on earth are numbered and I want to kick the Devil where the sun don't shine. Like I said, I'm just a nobody. There's nothing good about me except Jesus. I'm just trying to help others for the Lord. I only share my ministry efforts with you, in hopes that you'll do the same. There is so much we can all do for God, of we'll just think and look for opportunities to preach the Gospel. Look what this man did for Jesus.

My heart's desire is for people to know the truth, and to love the truth and to stand for the truth. 2nd Thessalonians 2:10 tells us the reason why the unsaved masses of this world will be brainwashed when the Antichrist comes... “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” The Bible says that they DIDN'T RECEIVE THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH. That is, they didn't care about the truth, because they were so wrapped up in their selfish little lives. The Bible says that the Last Days will be exactly as it was in the days of Noah, prior to the flood, which unexpectedly destroyed them all...

Luke 17:26-27, "And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all."
