Guardian Angels
By David J. Stewart
“Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.” —Matthew 18:10
Did you read that?...“their angels...” Jesus said, “THEIR ANGELS DO ALWAYS BEHOLD THE FACE OF MY FATHER.” We each have a guardian angel that continually waits for God's next command. Wow! Please don't misunderstand what a Guardian angel does. The Biblical FACT of the matter is that there are guardian angels over us who are continually waiting for God's next command.
When Daniel prayed for God's help, Michael the archangel was sent to answer his prayer before Daniel even finished praying. It is obvious that angels and prayer are related. Do you pray? Daniel 10:13, “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.” The Bible says that Michael met resistance from demonic forces and delayed the answer to Daniel's prayer. That is very interesting. Could not God simply overcome all forces of evil and reply without delay to Daniel's prayer? Yes, of course. Albeit, God in His sovereign plan has chosen to allow the struggle between good and evil to endure. I don't profess to understand why God does things the way that He does, but I do know that the Bible says God's ways and thoughts are far higher than human understanding (Isaiah 55:8-9).
The Bible warns against harming a child of God. Don't mess with a Christian! The Bible may be vague on certain issues, but one thing is clear... don't dare raise a hand against God's child or else face God's wrath.
“But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” -Matthew 18:6
Need I say more? If you are a child of God, you and I are of the seed of Abraham...
“And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.” —Galatians 3:29
What a beautiful truth! All of the Bible's promises to Israel will include every saved and born again child of God (whether Gentile or Jew). No unsaved Jew will escape hell, and no born-again Gentile will miss heaven. John 3:3 proclaims that we must ALL be born-again in Christ Jesus or we will not enter Heaven.
Angels appear throughout the Bible. The Lord sent two angels to rescue Lot and his family from the destruction to come. The angels then destroyed Sodom as the Lord had commanded.
Angels eat food. Psalms 78:25, “Man did eat angels' food: he sent them meat to the full.”
The angels watch over Christians, as evidenced by Psalms 91:11, “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” Psalms 34:7, “The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.”
Angels were always masculine in appearance, although they do not possess human male reproductive organs. Mormon perverted theology teaches that angels had sex with human women in Genesis and produced giants. That is not true! The Biblical word for “giants” in Genesis 6:4 refers to men of renown in the land, much like Rock stars. Psalms 8:5, “For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.” I believe that the angels look like human beings, as evidenced by their mortal appearances throughout the Bible.
Interestingly, demons NEVER (not even once) were able to appear in human form in the Bible unless possessing someone else's body.
Danger is a reality, but fear is a choice!
