Ottawa's Interim Police Chief Steve Bell said Sunday that police continued to have "major issues with a group of dispersed protesters" from Saturday night who exhibited "unruly behaviour" with officers who were attempting to install barriers and fencing. 

Bell confirmed that the confrontations led police to discharge a non-lethal anti-riot weapon at protesters, adding that they're not aware of any injuries. 

Checkpoints throughout the city remain in effect as police work to clear the city. Four people who entered a secure area were arrested Sunday.

Police said 191 people have been arrested, 107 have been charged and 389 total criminal charges have been laid so far. 

Police also said they've seen "the benefits of the Emergency Act," including freezing 206 personal and corporate bank accounts amongst other seizures. 

Bell said they "have active intelligence investigations ongoing to ensure we know people are leaving, if they are trying to amass again to return to the downtown core," adding "we are attempting to keep tabs on those that are leaving and potentially massing to come back.”
