Arena Host (Vaccination Checker) up to 6 months

In this public-facing position, you will use your compassion and communication skills to welcome members of the public to the City of Edmonton Arenas, educate patrons on how they can enjoy the facility in a safe way and ensure they have the proper vaccination QR codes prior to entering the Facility. You will succeed in this position if you can perform all tasks in a respectful, inclusive and service-minded way.

Provide excellent customer service to patrons as they enter, enjoy and exit the facility, including greeting folks, verifying their access and directing them to where they need to goEducate patrons on Arena protocols, including occupancy restrictions and permitted activitiesSupport the Arena safety measures, including controlling movement among different areas of the facility (such as the dressing rooms and viewing areas), preventing crowding in the lobby and seating areas and reporting unsafe conditionsComplete incident reports with the assistance of the Arena Attendant when necessaryPerform other related duties as required
Qualifications :Completion of High School Diploma or equivalentSome customer service experiencePrevious experience in a recreation facility is an assetSome experience using Google Suite (Gmail, Forms, Drive)Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including ability to resolve conflict in a respectful wayAbility to communicate in more than one language is an assetDemonstrated ability to perform all tasks in a respectful and inclusive way, including ability to take initiativeEmbrace the Cultural Commitments of Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, and foster an environment that encourages others to do the sameAccess to reliable transportation is necessary

Up to 50 temporary part-time positions for up to 6 months
Hours of Work: up to 39 hours per week; shifts may be between 6:00 am - midnight. Successful candidates must be able to work up to 10 hours per shift a week, including evenings and weekends. Preference will be given to candidates with wider availability.
Salary: $16.510 - $18.900 (Hourly)
