i don't know much about macs but aren't they onto 10.9 now? so that leaves 2 versions off the current mac image.

i think the wp collections idea is good, but i don't think people use them ever so that could be debated.

i think there is a line between sharing walls as new content and such and always posting the same 150ish walls every day. if we could get people to use the collections and they then had all of the endless reposts then maybe more new content would come our way.

I lost my original folder where I had all my notes and stuff about the original creation of the sticky so I don't remember that many names
I started and headed the idea asking for help and gathering sources from people.
Synergy did a lot of suggesting and helped with the guide. I don't remember if he did the windows desktop info graphic.
Macfag did pretty much all of the mac stuff along with community suggested links and tips
I don't remember who did the actual PS of the newbie guide infographic but if we don't hear from that person I can remake a PSD and host it on my MF public folder.
I know there were a few other major contributors but I can't remember names

I watch my rar collection download numbers and there are 300, 400, 600 on all of them so its definitely something people want. I can't track the number on the torrents but certainly its at least a good few so I feel these should stay up. (The ones that are like 7 or 12 DL are recent updates)

Is it possible to have a Mod post the sticky? Like the one in >>>/fit/? Maybe like: /wg/ Community ## Mod. I feel like faggots would be more inclined to read it in that case

I think the existing sticky is bloated and suffers from redundancy.

Long stickies don't get read. Especially by newcomers.

Links that were relevant at the time are now outdated.

Links in the list are also in the images. Pick one.

Personal collections should not be a part of the sticky. I know you guys worked hard on yours but I don't think its right.

We should stop pretending that there are rules here. Trying to enforce them is basically useless and has often resulted in backlash and flame wars anyway.

Here's what I would want to see in the sticky:

the excuse of no one reads the sticky does not work. I did oh so long ago. I always do. However it is the single line of reference to keeping the idiots at bay. Does it work? Sometimes. Does it help. Sometimes. Is it a good idea to have? Yes, based on sometimes.

My breakdown of that post:

1)Important because people are actually idiots but some do read this thing. Some do follow things and telling them this helps.

2)I have had several people say that they were going to post a request for an edit but saw the sticky. I have also had a few people add to threads already in place and say they saw the sticky and went looking for a thread like what they were wanting to post.
3) Such an important rule. Even if only a few people ever follow it.
4)Needed.
5)Needed.

Agree with having a mod post the thread. I said that last discussion last year too.
