Greetings those around weegee this evening. Just over a month ago something happened to our fair board; we got a sticky to help answer the common questions we get every day. I think was a big step forward. Problem is, the information stickied was long outdated, and only touches the surface of some important topics, while missing out others completely. The 80 or so posts in the sticky don't help either. It doesn't look like something you would want to read over when arriving at this board. So, instead of just complaining about this, I've done something, and here is what I propose:We take the same action, bumping this thread until it gets noticed by a mod. Rather than just have this thread stickied, I suggest said mod saves the guide and reposts it with the following message or something similar.------------------------------------------------------------------------Welcome to /wg/.You are here to contribute.You will read through this guide before asking questions.You will check through the 15 pages before starting your own thread.You will have a nice day.------------------------------------------------------------------------Short and sweet. I approve of this.Indeed the sticky was a good idea and it helps a lot to weed out the same question threads. But it does take up to much space. I've already hidden it so I don't have to see it every time I visit the homepage. A second try at a sticky could improve this.
I approve of this, and I'll bump it every now and then.

I see two major flaws with this... the first being that most people don't have windows 7 yet... i myself am still running vista and probably won't change till i have to get a new computer years from now.. (as for MACOSX i have no idea bcuz i'm a windowsfag). The second being basically tl;dr... you already said "short and sweet" so.. Do it! but hey, that's just my opinion...
i would say better than the current sticky, but too much text, you must remember, that newcomers are inherently lazy, and all want something for nothing

The sticky itself is short, the information is comprehensive.. the opposite is the case for the current sticky and that is exactly the problem.Actually, most people are on Windows 7 in here. Not sure where you got that idea from. Besides, most of this works on Vista anyway. Pretty much everything but the taskbar section by the looks of it.

There SHOULD be a lot of information. The more information the newfags gets, the less stupid questions we, the frequent visitors of /wg/, are likely to get. However, stupid questions will always be a part of /wg/, but hopefully some will stop and read the guide. Information is never bad.

Nice idea Baron but surely by bumping this thread with useless bumps it will become just like the other thread, instead surely people should be bumping with useful information relevant to wallpapers and desktops.I would like a better sticky without a fucking fail spelling error and the top, the mod whoever he was that made the thread a sticky obviously didn't bother reading through the thread and picking out bits of information that would not be helpful to a person reading the sticky to find out how to do something.I will leave by saying, nice guide WB and please please read the sticky before posting.

Personally I prefer OD to RD still, but yes, that's the only technical qualm I have.
