Last season I watched Seitokai No Ichizon, Sasameki Koto and Sora No Otoshimono

At the risk of causing issues (tho I'm not in /a/) I did watch Toradora - but I have the dvd rips, and those aren't going to fly for anything but my netbook.

NGE was reasonable, but not phenomenal - TTGL was good, but since NGE didn't wow me, the response didn't hit me as hard as it might have.
Mai-hime was good, though I never watched My-otome.

On balance, where it's from is less important than the concept of it acting as a sort of Anime Shibboleth.

I engage in a bit of self censorship on laptops and shirts just because I don't want to start of at a disadvantage, even with stupid judgmental types. The end result is me having lovely abstract wallpapers on my laptop and wearing snazzy clothes instead of black t-shirts with gory metal imagery on them. I don't stop liking things I like, I just don't have to advertise them every day.
