The Armory looking yellow parts are like what you'd imagine: Chitin, thickish hollowed out nonsense like an insects shell or exoskeleton.

The Brown armory parts though are a little more rubbery and not necessarily any softer, but they're more flexible. They're made out of the same Chitin as their exoskeletons but it's soft, squishy, absorbs shock and moves around a lot better.

The tail is nothing but flesh.
The Only Fur the Abra line has is in their ears and on their mustaches.

Poke analysis? Finally! I was losing hope among such a mass of shitty threads.

I wondered for quite some time about the structure and flexibility of Gallade's 'helmet', given that it appears to be merely an evolutionary iteration of Kirlia's pseudo-hair.

The fin on top of it is too thin to have any further organic reinforcement akin to a bone, it appears to have some growing point too, as implied by its geometry. Does it have a tendency to break off as it begins to overhang, thus explaining a much smaller fin that continues onwards?

I feel autistic.

I imagine the Abra line mostly has a normal endoskeleton and smooth skin, considering they're as close to humans as a Pokemon can be.

While there is no indication from GF as to what was the reasoning behind every line in his design, someone drew a fitting analogy to those puffy pants of renaissance era.
