What if we applied our own reality to the Pokemon world?

In Pokemon, children can leave home, forgo an education and travel the world unescorted at the young age of 10. The only reason they can survive is because Pokemon centers offer free lodging, food, drink and healthcare to registered Pokemon trainers.

In reality, they would fall victim to animal/pokemon attacks, succumb to illness and would be targeted for mugging, kidnapping, rape and/or murder.

That art is horrible
>>
All those terrorist organizations would be fucking our shit up constantly with stuff like raids and robberies, bombings and outright armed assaults.
>>
Autistic children and evil ass holes would have access to deadly animals possessing lethal and destructive abilities.
>>
>>12779822
Anything that could learn explode would be recognized immediately.

OH SHIT IT'S A VOLTORB, GET DOWNNNNN

But if all we could have Pokémon it would be balanced, not only terrorists and autists but Governs, cool guys... And we have no reason to destroy everything.
>>
This is why I think kids should not be allowed to do this. It is just a gane, though, and it's supposed to be some form of empowerment. I know children's books like this, too, and I depise them because they make adults look stupid.
>>
>>12779875
This. Pokémon would be like nuclear weapons: everybody's got them so nobody uses them because it would be the end of us.

>Applying reality to a fantasy world

dude what are you doing
>>
I'd go to Sabrina's gym and try to learn how to unlock my psychic potential.
>>
I don't get why there seems to be so little security in the games, evil teams of criminals run about in broad daylight in the middle of main cities, and there isn't a police presence at all.
Citizens (despite owning pokemon of their own) leave it up to children to clear out these people, gym leaders and the E4 scarcely take an interest in shit going down in their own cities.

Considering that the evil team grunts barely run anything stronger than a few zubats, everyone else in the world seems unbelievably irresponsible about current affairs even when just about all of them actually have the power to single handedly fuck them up.

Would intelligent Pokemon have special rights?

No, but lots of people would be fucking their Gardevoirs.
>>
>>12779936
There is a trainer class in the games called the Officer/Policeman dating back to gen 2, but they don't do anything...
>>
>>12780489
Anyone else think there would be underground trafficking of Gardevoirs, Lopunnies, and what ever other Pokémon people would fuck?

And then there would be SWAT teams of Officer Jenny's conducting raids on crime fronts like some Rainbow Six shit.
>>
What about the daycares, man? Forced breeding centers. Ever read about puppy mills? That's daycares, multiplied by three. And what about all the sup-bar babies? The 5-13 IV kids? They get released en-mass, fucking up the local ecosystem. Never thought about THAT, did ya?
>>
>>12779822
Every Bank and Airplane would be filled with Quagsires.
>>
>>12779808 (OP)
Assuming Pokémon exist, the Pokéworld is actually quite accurately depicted. I.e., if Pokémon started existing in our world tomorrow, our world would be vastly similar in 50 ears or so.
>>
>>12783283
What do you base all that on?
>>
>>12783283
If Pokemon appeared in our world tomorrow, we would not let our children forgo an education to travel the world by themselves with dangerous animals at their command in 50 years.

Unless Pokemon somehow provide a massive boost to the economy and tax income, Pokecenters as they function in Pokemon would not be possible. Multiple large buildings in every town and major city with free healthcare and food & drink would cost huge amounts of money, resources and energy to maintain.
>>
Pokemon trainers are by nature difficult to kidnap or otherwise assault. Even a creature like Rattata's got fangs the size of a man's hand.

I imagine that human-manned weaponry still exists, but when the police forces are equipped with mobile flamethrowers, it's easy to see how the peace can be kept.

That said, I imagine that a small number of trainers (of any age) are killed by wild Pokémon each year, at least based on the kind of things that happen in the manga.

Assuming Pokemon have genitalia
>>
>>12784002
How else would they reproduce?
>>
>>12784019
Magic. Literally, magic.
>>
>>12784030
Would pokemon still follow game logic in the real world? The only precedence I could have for any form of rules related to alternate realities crossing over is with literal crossovers, and they tend to vary which set of rules prevails.
>>
>>12779890
>>12779875
Except that if both governments and terrorists have it then you have an incredibly violent society. Look at places where both government and rebels have AK 47s, not so peaceful

>Oh wow, look at all those dropped ite-
>BOOM

They have mouths
