Bronzong isn't just a bell. It has arms the move and interesting patterns on it. Bronzor, on the other hand, is more or less just a floating metal disc with eyes.

What about if they're used for doubles. Sword and shield boost each other's respective stats, but you could use two swords for a big boost. Then when they evolve together they keep the boost!
