Here's something I thought of after the reveal of Monorpale:

>Monorpale ends up being a version exclusive to PKMN Y; strong, offensive steel/ghost

>PKMN X gets a strong, defensive steel/ghost pokemon based on a shield.

Evolution method: If both pokemon are in the same party, then they can evolve into a haunted, Coat-of-Arms pokemon. However, you have to choose which one to level up in order to initiate the evolution. If you level up Monorpale, then its attack/sp. attack gets boosted. And if you level up the Shield pokemon, then its defense/sp. defense gets boosted instead.

It's be pretty neat, and it's not like we haven't had unique evolution methods in the series before.

The only thing is what would it look like? What kind of design would you give it?
