I lost my Silver on a field trip when I was 9 and my little sister lost Ruby after only having it for a week. We still had Gold + Crystal and Sapphire + Emerald so it wasn't that big of a deal but it bugs the shit out of me to this day.

At some point one of my big boxes of old toys and shit got thrown away or lost or given to somebody, who knows, and I lost all my figures and everything. With all that stuff was Red, Gold and Silver, and my Gameboy SP. So there's no hard proof I'm not a Hoennbabby. Maybe that's why I can identify them, since that's when I got back into Pokemon (in like 2008, true, on a Ruby cartridge I'd always had, but still)
I'd still love to know how I lost so much stuff. Weird thing is my GBA, Leafgreen and Ruby all showed up.

I lost my original copy of Pokemon Yellow, which was a bit glitchy so no big deal. Bought a new 'used' copy of it again in 2008 for £8.

Also lost my copy of Pokemon Gold, no fucking clue where that went.

I wasn't particularly attached to either of these though, none of them had my bros on them.

When I was 12 I lost Ruby. After like two months, I bought a new one and then found my old one. So I ended up beating the Elite Four on my first Ruby with two overlevelled Swamperts.

I "lost" Sapphire by letting the kid of a family friend borrow it. When I asked for it back a month later he had traded it for some shitty DBZ PS2 game.

A couple of years later I lost Leaf Green. I'm convinced it was stolen by one of my "friends" in my class because it was suddenly missing from my DS when I opened my backpack at home.

I don't even know how. I travelled home with my father and at some point during the ride, I lost my DS lite with the game still in it.

I lost pretty much all of them, I even lost Black. Until recently, I never really wanted to replay games I already beat, so I never kept track of many games. I just leave them outside the cases and they disappear.

Now I realize how much of a faggot I was because I run around the house searching every nook and cranny trying to find them now because I want to replay them.

When I was around 5-6, my mother bought me a used Pokemon Yellow. I played the shit out of it everyday, but it would never save. The save function just didn't work, so I would see how far I could get everyday, sometimes keeping my gameboy on overnight. I never made it past the eighth gym leader I believe.

it's because you had a pirated verion of GBA cartrige. They have batteries instead of memory powered by GBA battery power.
So when that battery dies, the in-game time stops. In-game time usually makes berry grow and does some other things.

Early run copies had batteries before they switched to flash memory for later ones.
The conversion was sloppy at best so it's buggy.
FR/LG had a built-in patch for it so it could be fixed.

I actually lost all of my games once. Well, all of my hand held games that were gba and ds. Including my Emerald (which I'd put hundreds of hours into), my Diamond, my Platinum, and all of my other DS games because I lost the case. I ended up giving away the DS to a kid that didn't have any vidya but that didn't keep me away from Pokemon. I bought another Emerald, another Platinum, and I also have Heart Gold and Blacks 1 and 2. I also have a box full of IV trained Pokemon and a fair amount of shinies. It was probably one of the toughest things to get over losing that I've experienced but it taught me a good lesson. It showed me that you can get over any loss, and that material items are just that.
