/vp/, have you ever lost any of your Pokemon games? Was it a big loss? How did you lose it?
>>
I lost my Emerald version. I still suspect that one of my brother's friends stole it. I was sad as fuck and it took me a while to get over it because I had a lot of good Pokemon that game.
>>
I've never lost a single Pokemon game

I've sold Diamond and Heartgold

I replaced them with Platinum and Soul Silver.
>>
I lost my Silver on a field trip when I was 9 and my little sister lost Ruby after only having it for a week. We still had Gold + Crystal and Sapphire + Emerald so it wasn't that big of a deal but it bugs the shit out of me to this day.
>>
At some point one of my big boxes of old toys and shit got thrown away or lost or given to somebody, who knows, and I lost all my figures and everything. With all that stuff was Red, Gold and Silver, and my Gameboy SP. So there's no hard proof I'm not a Hoennbabby. Maybe that's why I can identify them, since that's when I got back into Pokemon (in like 2008, true, on a Ruby cartridge I'd always had, but still)
I'd still love to know how I lost so much stuff. Weird thing is my GBA, Leafgreen and Ruby all showed up.
>>
Lost: Emerald, Sapphire, Platinum, Silver

Sad as fuck when I lost Platinum. I had all my friends on that game. I think Platinum was my favorite Poke game ever compared to most. Had so much fun.
>>
>lost Red and Blue
>lost Gold
>friend "borrowed" Crystal, never saw it again
>lost Ruby and Sapphire
>lost both copies of Emerald
>sold Diamond and Pearl since they're total shit
The only ones I know I have are Yellow and Silver
>>
How can you even call yourself Pokémon fans if you lose your fucking games all the time?
>>
I lost my original copy of Pokemon Yellow, which was a bit glitchy so no big deal. Bought a new 'used' copy of it again in 2008 for £8.

Also lost my copy of Pokemon Gold, no fucking clue where that went.

I wasn't particularly attached to either of these though, none of them had my bros on them.
>>
When I was 12 I lost Ruby. After like two months, I bought a new one and then found my old one. So I ended up beating the Elite Four on my first Ruby with two overlevelled Swamperts.
>>
I "lost" Sapphire by letting the kid of a family friend borrow it. When I asked for it back a month later he had traded it for some shitty DBZ PS2 game.

A couple of years later I lost Leaf Green. I'm convinced it was stolen by one of my "friends" in my class because it was suddenly missing from my DS when I opened my backpack at home.
>>
>>12954843
I've moved house about 6 times in the past five years, give me a fucking break.
>>
>>12954843

I'm sorry that Pokemon games come in cartridges smaller than the size of a child's palm without a box to contain them in.
>>
Haven't been able to find my ol' red for like.. 10 years.. D':
>>
I lost my gold version I don't know where, got my ruby version stolen and lost my diamond version too. Oh, and I got my R4 with my black/white saves on it stolen too.I'm so mad whenever I think about it.
>>
>>12954768 (OP)
my first and only cartridge (crystal) "mysteriously" disappeared at school. I had suspects but no proof, so I never got it back. just thinking about it still upsets me... I might confront that motherfucker sometime...
>>
>>12954879
This.

I used to store my GBA games in an old shoebox before I came across this video, now I store them like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeVB8xn1Y-8
>>
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky.

I don't even know how. I travelled home with my father and at some point during the ride, I lost my DS lite with the game still in it.

I got really far in it, too... On the bright side, as a result of that (and accidentally breaking the hinges on my DS) I could excuse buying a 3DS, but damnit I still want my game back. I've been contemplating buying a new one, but it doesn't seem quite right you know?
>>
>>12954879
Why not just put them in the box it came in?
>>
>>12954936
Because Gameboy games came in flimsy cardboard packaging which disintegrated if you so much as breathed near it.
>>
I lost pretty much all of them, I even lost Black. Until recently, I never really wanted to replay games I already beat, so I never kept track of many games. I just leave them outside the cases and they disappear.

Now I realize how much of a faggot I was because I run around the house searching every nook and cranny trying to find them now because I want to replay them.

There is no excuse for DS games. You just have to put it back in the case.

>mfw Gamestop sells used DS games without the case
>>
>>12954956
Sounds like you need to take better care of them.
Mine are perfectly fine.
Apart from my Ruby box after it had a run in with my cousin.
>>
Have owned every single game red blue yellow silver gold crystal ruby sapphire emerald fire red leaf green diamond pearl and stopped there after literally every one had been lost/stolen in some fucked up way over time. played emulators for awhile and finally invested in the DStwo. also preordered X
>>
>>12954768 (OP)
My dog ate my Pearl cartridge then he got sick a few days later.
He then died about a week later. I danced and spat on his grave. The fucker ate my game, just as I was about to beat the E4
>>
>>12954984
I had nowhere to store flimsy boxes without them getting crushed.

It's a design fault on Nintendo's behalf, which they rectified with the DS games, obviously.

Shit, even PS1 games had plastic jewel cases to protect games.
>>
>>12955008
>putting your games in the reach of animals
You're a terrible person.
>>
No but I sold my Diamond. I miss it

It was he first pokémo game I phisically owned
>>
Not losing a "game" perhaps, but it felt like it.
When I was around 5-6, my mother bought me a used Pokemon Yellow. I played the shit out of it everyday, but it would never save. The save function just didn't work, so I would see how far I could get everyday, sometimes keeping my gameboy on overnight. I never made it past the eighth gym leader I believe.
>>
>>12954982
I always just left them out after switching games, I was stupid as fuck.

I know better now, I keep all of them in a drawers within arm length.
>>
>>12955016
You know, you could have just bought a plastic box or used an old shoe box to hold them.
Don't blame Nintendo if you can't take care of your stuff.
>>
Nope. It's impossible to lose roms.
>>
I lost my white version with a shiny Arceus I took from a Gameshark user :( I also had all my other stuff there.

>>
>>12955049

I hope you enjoy Gen 6.
>>
>>12955042
Like I said, I've moved house many times over the years. Sorry if I didn't have a box dedicated to storing empty cardboard game boxes.

I keep them in individual plastic cartridge holders now so who gives a shit? Do you play with the box or the game? I'm not going to sell the games I love to play so why does having the box matter after all these years?

>>12955069
There are better games and series' out there. I won't miss pokemon. When the 3ds emulator comes out I may play XY if I grow bored of other games though.
>>
Fat mexican lady (Spanish teacher) stole my sapphire and my GBA in the 5th grade. I walked to throw some trash away leaving it in my desk cuz it was a fun day and came back it was gone. I sat right next to her. Ended up seeing her fatass son with it later down the line that school year.

Don't you think a semi-decent emulator would be out by now?

OP here, holy shit, this is horrific. The only games I've lost were my own fault because I lost interest in Pokemon, and by the time I came back I had forgotten where they were.

My first Pokemon game: Gold.
Internal battery died so quickly somehow.
I can't help but feel happy because it remains a great memory of my childhood nonetheless.
It had a good (if short) life.

I've never lost any games but I have passed one down.
I gave my little cousin my Pokemon Ruby so he can start playing Pokemon.

I'm petty sure I lost my blue version
twice
two sperate cartridges
parents had also bought me red so no big deal, but I caught all 151 in blue

red, silver, diamond, soul silver, and a Pearl my mom found in the laundry are still her
>>
>>12955241
Good man. I gave my Soul Silver to one of my friends (he's about 9). His parents are divorced and neither would get him the new Pokemon game.
>>
>>12955216
The internal battery "ran dry" in my Ruby (meaning time doesn't work). What the fuck does that mean?

It still saves and everything. Ruby is my first game ever.

That's the Berry Glitch.
Or you have an older version of Ruby that actually has a battery in it and it's dead.
I actually sacrificed that battery in my Sapphire to get my recent Gold to work.
>>
Lost my Pearl, had a couple of event pokemon on it. Though I can't remember which ones. Got Platinum later so it didn't matter much.
>>
>>12955346
So if the battery is dead and it saves, why does it matter?
>>
>>12955346
My actual emerald battery is dead, but my gold battery isn't. I bought both when they came out ;_;

it's because you had a pirated verion of GBA cartrige. They have batteries instead of memory powered by GBA battery power.
So when that battery dies, the in-game time stops. In-game time usually makes berry grow and does some other things.
>>
>>12955503
How does this imply he has a pirated copy?
>>
I "lost" my first copy of White, it's somewhere in my bedroom (which is a fucking disaster zone because I was a lazy slob).

False. I had store bought ruby and sapphire cartridges and their event batteries are dead with still functional save batteries.

Early run copies had batteries before they switched to flash memory for later ones.
The conversion was sloppy at best so it's buggy.
FR/LG had a built-in patch for it so it could be fixed.
>>
my Red version is the only one I lost
but my Platinum, Diamond, Sapphire, Leaf Green and Emerald versions got stolen some months ago, knowing the cops of my country, the thief will never be caught
>>
Pokemon Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness. I gave them to a friend who wanted to borrow them because he really wanted to play them and he lost them. We never found them after that.

I feel like looking for a copy at Gamestop or eBay. I've been wanting to replay them for a while.
>>
Fuck, /vp/. I've been looking all over for my game that has like, all of my Pokemon on it. I've torn apart my house but I can't imagine how it could have left the house. I never lent it to anybody, and it was always in my DS... but when it wasn't, I don't remember how younger me stored stuff. I don't remember almost anything, in fact, just that it has a lot of old Pokemon on it.

lost emerald and apparently I also lost my fucking heart gold cartridge when I was at college last year
>>
I've currently lost Platinum and Diamond. I've owned ever game except Pearl, Crystal and Black.

I put over 350 hours into Diamond, mad as fuck. Not as much as in Silver but hey internal battery is dead can't do shit about that
>>
>>12954768 (OP)
I actually lost all of my games once. Well, all of my hand held games that were gba and ds. Including my Emerald (which I'd put hundreds of hours into), my Diamond, my Platinum, and all of my other DS games because I lost the case. I ended up giving away the DS to a kid that didn't have any vidya but that didn't keep me away from Pokemon. I bought another Emerald, another Platinum, and I also have Heart Gold and Blacks 1 and 2. I also have a box full of IV trained Pokemon and a fair amount of shinies. It was probably one of the toughest things to get over losing that I've experienced but it taught me a good lesson. It showed me that you can get over any loss, and that material items are just that.
>>
>>12954768 (OP)
I lost ruby, and I have no idea where it is. The only 2 pokemon I remember having is a lv 100 sceptile and a kadabra.
feels bad man
>>
Some sandnigger stole both my Atomic purple GBC, Red, and Crystal versions. I was devistated. I was only 5 at the time too.
