Well, I recorded this message destined to stand the Nintendo Japan expo in Paris for you unveil a number of information about Pokemon X / Y.

Kalos is inspired by France.I decided that one of the themes of the game is the beauty.

I wanted to reflect this (beauty) in a place that worked well, and a country came to my mind - a country that is most visited by tourists, a country of fashion and culinary sophistication, linguistic sophistication ...France!

In fact, Kalos comes from the ancient Greek word for beauty.

The first time I came to France, it was in 2000, for the release of the first Pokemon movie. 10 years later, in 2010, I returned for a trip a month after the end of the project Pokemon Black / White.

I went to Paris, Avignon, Arles, Marseille, Nice, Eze, Mont-Saint-Michel, the Chateau de Versailles and the Loire Valley. I found that everything was beautiful.

Then, in 2011, there was new, serious travel with the whole team, this time to find material for the games.

Lumiose, the central city of Kalos is inspired by Paris. Obviously, the whole team went there to do research. The heart of France, Paris! So, we have included all of the elements of Paris. Of course, we didn't limit it to Paris! We were also inspired by Lyon and Reims, among others.

Look carefully at the map of Kalos. Over on the left, you should see some kind of aligned stones. I got the idea from Carnac. In Japan, it was impossible to find information about these (Carnac) alignments, so I went there with a guide.

During the trip, we were accompanied by members of the French translation team for the game so there was no language problem. But many times they asked me: "Are you M.Masuda of Game Freak?" and I thought, "Gee, they'll know that the game is based on the France (if I confirm who I am)!" Warning: This is not because Kalos is (completely) inspired by France - that is one facet of the game.

We have created a new world, and I hope you enjoy it. There will be full of new Pokemon in this region.

20 have already been presented. I'll reveal one more. French name Monorpale, Japanese name Hitsotsuki, Ghost/Steel. It presents itself in the form of a sword containing an ancient soul.

I walked into Black blind after I got a 3DS which was my first Pokemon since the GBASP and I did not like it.

Considering the new movie airs before X/Y come out, and also taking into consideration rumors of another Mewtwo form and that pokemon Orotto, as well as speculation of a Sableye evo, I'm guessing this isn't the last time we'll be seeing new pokemon before release.
