Questions on how to raise your Pokémon? Ask them here and maybe you'll recieve a slightly correct and vague answer or another question.

Poképhilia: best if kept at a minimum Circle Jerking if you feel like it.
Zero: Cannot stop being a faggot, confirmed for canon.

And no, we are not all Zoroarks in disguise.

Abundant Shrine is BULLSHIT.

Do you know how many waterfalls I had to scale to reach that place? And the only thing there is a single goddamn shrine to a Pokemon who hasn't been there in YEARS. There's nothing else worthwhile there!

I see more legendary pokemon when I cross Marvelous Bridge. My travel agent can go hang onto a Drifloon until it drags him right to hell.

(question for rules of this rp: is it permissible to defy the breeding groups if it can be justified? In other words, stuff that is based on similar animals and should be able to breed, but can't within the constraints of the game)

Does anyone need a pokemerc?

Im in Kanto right now, but I can zip over to Hoenn or Unova if you need me to.

My fee is usually around 120,000 pokedollars. It depends on the target and location.

Apparently, this fossil I found the other day belongs to a Pokémon called Tirtouga; the guys at the HQ Lab were going to try resurrecting it, and said they could give it to me if they pulled it off. Any tips for an Orrefag on raising one of these guys? Maybe thoughts on a name?
>>
Ok,so can anyone explain to me how my Staraptor is able to intimidate? Most pokemon that have that ability look scary as fuck.but not my Staraptor or any at that. Any ideas?
>>
>>11507730
Tirtouga and Carracosta are slow, but powerful pokemon.I would recommend Waterfall and Curse with Rock slide and whatever move at the 4th slot. Anon. btw,Congrats.
>>
>>11507730

>give it to me if they pulled it off
>me if they
>IF
>>
>>11507732
Intimidate is more of a trait that certain pokemon develop to lower the morale of other pokemon. This being said, Intimidate is not largely focused on the face, it can be focused on talon size, wingspan, etc. Stantler has intimidate and yet does not have a scary face. His large horns can be very intimidating to other Pokemon.
>>
>>11507672
>I see more legendary pokemon when I cross Marvelous Bridge.

That Cressila is an asshole. Keeps stealing my lunch whenever I ride on my bike across it. Well, whenever the ghost doesn't steal it instead in between times when it makes me shit my pants and then disappear.

Have any of us ever challenge and beaten the Elite four of whatever region we live at?

I've beaten the Unova elite four and I must say that having a Scrafty makes things so much easier.
>>
>>11508150

And put my Friends through that much pain?
no, i'm not the best trainer, i don't want to see them get hurt knowing it was my fault

the most battling we ever do is sometimes on breaks around the back of the pokemart i work at, and that's only because i know there is lots of potions to heal them with
>>
>>11508150
Never have, but from what people tell me, it's not that hard the first time around. They play by Unova Gym Leader rules where you fight equivalent leveled pokemon to your own, and they're more focused on testing you than kicking your ass.

Between you and me, I heard they use drugs to lower the levels of their pokemon to make it a fair fight, that's why trainers like Drayden have evolutions that are sooner than they should be.
>>
>>11508095
Think about the world? ...I can understand your other hangups, but while pokemon just being in love has never been an issue, I just feel that certain ones should still be allowed to be paired. I can understand the havoc this would create because then pretty much anything would be possible. Yes, there should be restrictions, but only within reason. Otherwise, I remain unable to accept that "It's a kid's franchise" is an adequate excuse for laziness. If you want to have a fully realized world, you will have to break the rules of the game somewhere. You probably already have. What difference does it make then? If you want to play the game, then go ahead and play the game, but I refuse to act as if it's a real world because it's not. Not even for pretend purposes. You might as well just be playing the game.
>>
>>11508186

I woke up in the middle of the night, 4.12 AM. I was having an other "Zapdos nightmare". When I looked out of the window I saw the Bell Tower illuminated by lightning. Only then I noticed how strong the wind was blowing. The weather was far too familiar.
It knew it was HIM to cause all that. I got up, I had to face my fear. I took my belt, woke up Rowdy (my Furret) and recalled him in his ball. The rest of my team (Spike the Typhlosion, Serah the Togekiss, Athos the Gyarados and Mickey the Espeon) was already in the Pokéballs.
When I got on the street, I saw lightning fall on route 38. Zapdos had to be there.
I took the bike and headed towards the route. Probably the guard at the city exit told me something, I only remember the word "dangerous".
I stopped between route 38 and 39. I knew it was going to be a hard battle, so I called all my Pokémon out.
I ordered Serah to randomly use Air Slash to let Zapdos know I was there. Lightning fell 10 meters in front of me. It's like a fucking flashbang, I had to close the eyes and cover my ears.
>>
>>11508363
When I opened them, Zapdos was there, standing tall, with his wings wide open, electricity running through his whole body, making crackling sound. And I was there, standing on my feet, but petrified by fear, my heart beating like never before, cold sweat covering my forehead.
He unleashed his terrifying cry and flew up in the air. "This is it", I thought. I jumped on Serah, reaching his level, my other 5 pokémon still on the ground. I had to hit fast and hard. "Spike use Eruption!" I yelled, but the wind was too strong, making it difficult to aim, and the attack barely hit the tail. He flew down, spinning around himself, heading towards Rose. I ordered Rowdy and Athos to protect her, managing to crush Zapdos between Aqua Tail and Ice Punch.
But it had little effect. He quickly recovered, rising up again, Serah and I flew towards him: we had to keep him where the others could reach him. Serah used Extremespeed to fly past him and block its way with Protect, forcing Zapdos back down, just between Rose and Mickey, who were ready to unleash their attacks.
>>
>>11508371
"NOW!" on my order, Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb were shot to Zapdos, resulting in a direct hit from both sides. For a moment, I actually thought we might win, but that's when things started do go wrong. I pissed Zapdos off. He came out of the smoke and gas, aiming at Mickey. "Use Prote-" but it was too late... his DrillPeck hit fast and hard, knocking my Espeon out.
"Athos grab it with Ice Fang!" I yelled down. But Zapdos was strong enough to slowly lift my Gyarados, who managed to bite only his tail. "Spike, use eruption while he's still down!". Just when the attack started, that monster called lightning down, frying Athos in one shot, and allowing him to escape the eruption.
Out of my reach, he began to rain lightning down on us, in some kind of berserk rage. Spike and Rowdy were hit but still managed to not get unconscious, while I finished far from them and Rose after dodging all those attacks. I had to do something... I guided Serah toward Zapdos and ordered her to use AncientPower. The attack snapped him out of his mindless rage interrupting his lightning rampage.
>>
>>11508379
But surely he was not calmed down. He dove down to Spike, faster than ever, hitting his chest with Drill Peck, knocking him out and flying past Rose and Rowdy. He then rose spinning like a top. When he stopped he opened his wings unleashing a gigantic Heat Wave.
I tried to guide Serah in front of the other two to protect them, but she was too tired after all that dodging while also carrying me. The attack invested both Rose and Rowdy, launching them meters away, where they remained unconscious.
I had to escape. There was nothing else to do. But before I could decide that, he was in front of me. I was crying. My friends were all knocked out by this monster. When I opened my eyes after wiping them, I saw Zapdos charging an attack.
Its AncientPower (or at least I think it was that) scattered like a shotgun toward us. We tried to dodge it, but we were hit. I fell off Serah, straight to the ground. I lost my senses.
I am now in my bed. 3 broken ribs on the right, where the attack hit me, and dislocated left shoulder and mild TBI because of the fall.
They told me that I was found at around 5 by the owner of MooMoo Farm, drawn by the mess we made. All my Pokémon were taken to the PKMN Center. Athos, Rose and Mickey are still under treatment.
>>
>>11508388
It is all my fault. I rushed things too much. I went in battle without a real strategy. I overestimated myself, thinking I could effectively give orders to 6 Pokémon at once (SIX!), without ever actually trying. I brought a Roserade and a GYARADOS to battle a flying thunder monster and now my friends are hurt. What the hell was I thinking?
Even Morty came to scold me, telling me how much of an inconsiderate I have been, and how I should have talked to him etc.
Now I feel like a shit for what I have done, but I still cannot let that bird win. I know I said I only wanted to battle him to overcome my fear, that I didn't need to win, but I just cannot accept it.
I want to reorganize my team, hunt him down, and have my revenge. But there's that new league opening in just 8 months and I really want to take part, and I might not have enough time.
What would you do? Should I chase him, or should I take part to the league, further refining my skills, THEN go for Zapdos.

For me, the facing a legendary and losing isn't so bad; it would depend on whether or not the dreams are because you're chosen, or something like that. Anyway, it's mostly the writing style that I disliked; the Pokémon Are Real threads are usually about people posting as though they're talking on an in-universe message board, whereas your story was... well, a story, and not one that felt personally related.
>>
>>11509036
ok thanks. Nightmares are because the character met Zapdos before but simply passed out because of fear alone.

Well, there is Koff!
Koff! is made from a koffing's naturally emitted gases and the scales of a kecleon. The kecleon scale part of Koff! camouflages you from the bug types, but some have Compound Eyes and can see through this illusion. That's where the Koffing gas kicks in. Koffing poison is nonlethal to humans, but is a killer of bug types, so if a Yanmega comes up to you, it'll have another thing coming!

Brought to you by Koff!©

Guy who was challenging Black tower like a million weeks ago here, I haven't visted these threads in a long time.

After much trial, getting lost, and losing prize money a shit ton of times, I've finally beaten the place. The whole 10 areas, I can't believe how long the last fucking floor took me. I thought the people in here were crazy when they said this place reaches space, but it really is a sight to see when you get up here. That fucking kid was almost too much though. I mean, he's nice and all, but what the fuck is up with his team? He started with the god damn legendary Pokemon Latios for crying out loud. Lots of set up was required for this bullshit battle, but with Lopunny and Vaporeon baton passing stats, we somehow came out on top. It was actually a pretty fun battle in retrospect, though not one I want to do again any time soon. Now the kid wants me to come to his "gramps" house to give me something.
>>
>>11511478
Holy shit, I remeber you. Glad to hear you finally beat the place. Did you end up taking my advice and teaching your Lopunny ice punch?
>>
Alright, so I've been thinking of adding a new Pokemon to my battling team. My main team consists of Emboar, Druddigon, Flygon, Weavile, Beartic and Feraligatr. Weavile and Flygon are the ones I'm willing to swap out, but I only have enough time for one more Pokemon, so any ideas?
>>
>>11511548
That probably would have been helpful in that fight, but no I didn't. It's drain punch was pretty useless in that particular fight but it helped make getting through the tower a bit easier. I ended having to use my vaporeon to take out most of the guys team, switching between Acid armor and Lopunny's work up. I got a bit lucky when facing Garchomp and was able to stall it to death with Whimsicott after it started hitting itself from Outrage. If I ever face him again, I want to be more prepared.
>>
I own a farm off of Mahogany and have decided to invest in a Buneary. My farm hasnt't been doing so well now that tourist season has started. So many Unovans and spoiled Sinnohans are trampling my berries on their way to the lake of rage. Anyway, I've had to resort to shooting wild Pokemon to feed myself and keep my farm up and running. The Buneary first served as bait for wild Pokemon, so I could shoot them when they tried to attack my buneary, but I soon realized the prowess of it. I've sent for a trainer from Chuck's dojo and he has taught my Buneary many new moves to help us.

I'm glad to say that my Buneary is doing well, beating up all the faggot foreigners who dare even try to step on my fields. Fuck you Unovans and Sinnohans. Go look up your own asses for shiny Gyaradoses.

Nope, Johto officials are keeping it there so they can roll in the pokedollars tourists pay to see the red gyarados. Pretty sure that the original Red Gyardos died years ago, they're just repeatedly cloning it and feuling it up with Rare Candies and Rage Candy Bars.

They make you pay an addmission fee just to look at it and make you pay to battle it. No ones beaten it yet, probably because its hopped up on Rage Candy Bars. With the amount of tourists pouring in, the profit Johto has gotten this year is more than double the profit of last year. They're not gonna shut this operation down anytime soon.

Benga ended up giving me a Shiny Gabite...this dude must be raising tons of dragons. I hear that once it becomes a Garchomp, you can barely tell the difference between a shiny and a normal one. He may be a little overactive but this kid is a great trainer. I don't think I would have beat him if he had a full team.

Anyway, the Gible was a nice gift and all, but I don't really think I can raise one of these little guys. I usually start with softies and raise them to be strong but this guy already packs a mean bite. Not that he has a poor temper or anything, it's just going around biting everything. I could probably handle it, but I already have a full team to raise.

If anyone thinks they can raise a dragon, this shiny guy here could use a good trainer.
>>
>>11511736
I haven't been to Johto in years, it sounds like the place has really changed. I thought that getting rid of these abusive evolution methods was the whole point of what happened back then? Did lance ever come back to try and sort out this mess?
>>
>>11511792
I'm the same anon from those posts.
I'd be happy to accommodate you at my farm, it's a little off the path to the Lake of Rage. It should be easy to see the acres of crops and the tiny house in the middle of them. Just make sure you yell "Streeter" , so that my buneary won't mistake you for an intruder. Also, make sure you pack a lot of money, the Lake of Rage admission is pretty steep, almost the price of Magikarp Kingdom in Unova. If you want to battle it, I advise against it, the Red Gyarados is pumped full with steroids to the point it'd probably OHKO a Latios.
>>
>>11511841
Johto has changed a lot ever since a lot of the vigilantes passed away. Lance was one of them. To be frank, the police are pretty subpar, which is why we needed vigilantes and sometimes even pokemercs to keep the streets clean. Team Rocket is gone, but you never know how close the government is to them. Sometimes, the Johto officials are right in the way to preserve ancient monuments, but they are extrenely greedy. They rebuilt the burned tower and reolaces it with a condominium building. Ecruteak Condominiums. They even put a tax on goods passed through Tohjo Falls and now the Lake Of Rage affair. johto has changed, and maybe not for the better.

So. I'm training a team entirely from eggs because my older brother is a terrible person and thought that dumping six eggs on someone at one time is a good idea for a prank. He visited last week and I got to punch him in the face, so that's not the issue.

The problem is that Caramel (Eevee) is starting to mature a little bit, but she seems a little directionless during training. Which makes sense, since she's unevolved. But the problem is that there's SO MANY options for her evolution, and there aren't really any limits on which ones I can choose (My brother has graciously offered to gather/do whatever he needs to evolve Caramel the way I think she should).

So, what do I do? Use a stone? Take a trip to Sinnoh or Unova? Or just keep training at a certain time of day?

> About Caramel:
> Very affectionate to me, but often confrontational when it comes to other people/pokemon
> Somewhat prideful and stubborn
> Unafraid of most anything, has attempted to stare down my brother's Feraligatr

Are you from the future or something? I saw Lance a few weeks ago in the world Tournament. He was definitely alive when I saw him.

>>

Lance is still alive? Granted, I haven't left Johto si nce 3 years ago, but I didn't think he'd be on the other side of the world in Unova's World Championship. The police did tell our township that Lance was dead, but I guess you cant trust the police anymore. Ill maybe try to visit Ol' Lance in a month or so. Do you know where all the competitors stay for the tournament.

I'm glad to hear you say that. Me and my Buneary haven't had company in a while, so itd be nice for him to meet someone new. Just tell me when youre coming so that I can fix up a bed for you in the house. Also, dont worry about your time, we can accommodate for you any day of the week, if you need us to.
>>
>>11511997
I hear Sylveon is becoming quite a popular choice these days, but I don't really know anything about it. I heard from some other anons that they normally just let the eevee choose itself. I kind of wish I had let mine do that, but I really needed a water type at the time I evolved mine. She seems really happy though, so I guess I made the right choice.

They usually stay around Driftveil in the big fancy hotels. Man, that Clay is some kind of business genius because there have been a ton of people staying there since he had the World tournament built. You'll have to watch out for rich snobs though, a lot them tend to stay here. I mostly just travel around so that's about all I know.
>>
>>11512170
I would let her choose, but she seems as confused as I am about it. I don't think she likes staying up late much, so Umbreon is probably out, but she doesn't seem to have any bias towards other types.
>>
>>11512147
Flygon should be replaced by an Alakazam.
It may seem like a cliche choice for a pokemon team, but seeing as you don't have a psychic type on your team and the fact that you should be diverse as possible, Alakazam is the right choice. Also, besides the typing, Alakazam is exceptional on the offensive.

No problem. Like I said, I own acres of land for your pokemon to tromp in and I wont worry about crop trampling cause all my fields are being plowed for the next season. Also, the house is pretty big and will be more than capable of handling your Pokemon. If I may ask, what are your Pokemon? All I have is my Buneary and he takes up one children's room in the manor.

Yeah, sorry about the rep we have. Not everyone here is a jerk though, mostly just those people who tend to live in big cities like Castlelia and Black City,. Unova has some really peaceful areas with a bunch of friendly folk and I would actually say they are more prevalent then the rich types. My favorite area is the old Village Bridge because of how peaceful and relaxing it is, plus the musicians there are really great..

I think I may have some ideas for the lodgings.
If your sandslash is okay with it, we have an area near the barn that is all sand because ofthe wind that drafts over it. He can play in the sand and stay inthe barn. Your buizel can be at home near the small pond behind the barn. Your deerling, not accustomed to your other pokemon yet, can stay in the grove that the flower shop girls of Goldenrod tend to in my land. All these places are within walking distance of the house.
>>11512348
I dont hate all Unovans, im just not exactly partial to the smug ones from the places you mentioned. I know there are plenty of relaxing, nice places and nice peope in Unova. Heck, when I went there, a couple from Flocessy Ranch helped me start my own business in Johto.

HEY! We Black City dwellers aren't known to be jerks, we're just... a little eager about battling, that's all. We don't force you into it or anything.

We get a bad rap because some guys are sore losers is all, we're cool folk.
>>
>>11512409
I advise having a speedy pokemon to put abra to sleep quickly or anything that will stop him from teleporting away from you. Weavile is already very fast, but the professor at the Trainer School gives a Quick Claw to those who pass his elementary quiz. The Quick Claw sometimes helps the pokemon that holds it go faster by making them slightly more aerodynamic. The less successful way of catching an Abra is to simply throw a Pokeball at it. This may be ineffiecient and cn cost ya more, but you never know if itll work.
>>
>>11512509
No worries, my Buneary, being the male of a mostly female species, has had these probems before, so he will understand. I, on the other hand, will not mention it if she is sensitive about it, I know how it feels, especially since my Buneary went through a phase similar to her behavior.

Sorry, it's just a lot of people there really like to make it known they are just in it for the money. Some of the guys I faced in Black Tower were really just going on about it. You could try catching a Roselia and teaching it stun spore or grasswhistle. I've heard they're pretty common near Route 117. If you're having trouble finding the abra, you could also teach roselia sweet scent, although they tend to learn it when they're fully mature, so this could take some time. Of course, I can oly speculate that you're in Hoenn because you mentioned Rustboro. Be careful of the Whismur, I saw a guy go in a cave around there one time and come back with bleeding ears for a week.

Well, I could see how they might be useful for killing a person if you wanted. Would be pretty damn useless against most pokemon, though.

Except a Riolu, I guess. Unless that guy up there is jumping the gun on it being dead.
>>
>>11512800
Only civilized regions have laws.
>>
>>11512727
Guess I have to tell the whole story:
A few years ago I got gifted this very same riolu, despite the person that gifted it to me knowing that I never liked pokemons. Giving it back wasn't an option and I don't know any pokemon shelters so I just simply abandoned it in a nearby forest.
Yet, the dumbshit returned back to me somehow, I tried doing twice more and it kept returning, somehow even... angrier?
Anyways, I had to move soon at the other end of Unova, so I thought I had the opportunity to never see that idiot again. Yet I was a wrong and somehow found me again, except decidedly hostile, tried to jump to my face and now it's dead, it will not be missed.
And this is my story of why I have a pistol for protection.

>>
>>11512768
Plenty is illegal.

The problem is that if you break the law, who the fuck would actually know?
Who would bring you to justice?

Things can get pretty bad in some areas. My town has it's own private defense force, so it's relatively safe here.
But you could totally kill someone then skip town and there wouldn't be any problems.

I swear that even the pokemon here sometimes act like sociopaths...

That's not entirely true. The region is just sparsely inhabited.

For over a decade after humans arrived, there was no known case of ever encountering an indigenous pokemon. When they finally did meet one, a rattata, it was all but certainly a stowaway on the boat that brought them there. Yesterday, this old ex-classmate of mine showed up in town (left Hoenn for Sinnoh because "he was too good for Fortree").

Went about town telling everyone he caught -wait for it- a *shiny* Wailmer that he "left back in Sinnoh". Most folks around here don't even believe in 'shiny' pokemon, but the girls in town are lapping it up. Someone help me expose this poor nigger, he's been a pain in the ass for too long. They do create some hilarious static charges on furry poke, though. Rub a Purrloin in one for about two minutes, and you will have your entertainment for the week.

Puffs up like a giant fuzzy ball.

Yes there is a box to keep track of these things, no you can't access it, it requires a trainer card, yes, shinies are real. Benga hands one out to you if you beat his stupidly powerful pokemon at the top of black tower.

Just swipe his pokedex, I'm pretty sure that records it if he has them.
