    Buy Emerald first. Mainly to build up a pokemon collection, then beat the game and you can use that awesome glitch to clone pokemon and items. I would then transfer said clones to...

    ....Platinum. They have move tutors and other enhanced features from DP,as well as ALL 3 Legendaries in a single game. I would also recommend getting HG/SS, either version is fine.

    Get emerald for reason above. Fire Red is...kinda boring now but it'll give you the old Pokemon experience with all the features of Gen 3. On the other hand it has mewtwo
