From what I can tell, going from the comments in the /vg/ and /a/ threads and the fact /vp/ has been filled with sorrow and goodbye threads all day today that the majority of the complaints have come from OUTSIDE /vp/. Other boards butthurt about our existence.

All /vp/ needs is a janitor or two, instead of being left in a modless, chaotic state. Though personally, I am in the belief that nothings really wrong with /vp/... I like it how it is.

Me thinks we should just let /vp/ live and prosper.

There's been so much butthurt around, first thing it'd be nice for the whole boards morale if you make it clear that deleting us aint set in stone

Well, what I've mostly seen people complain about on my time here is:
Generals, which should be hopefully taken care of with /vg/ though I dont think anyone is keen on that idea in reality.
The daily Pokemon RP thread that goes on here.

All we really need is a bit of attention from the higher ups. We don't need to be deleted or merged or anything like that. Just need a little TLC.

I forgot to comment on that. I don't know what kind of complaints you're getting, moot, but /vp/ works just like any other board. The problems there are the same as anywhere else in 4chan, and the phrase "needs mods" can be apply to every single board here.

Besides, compare the activity of /vp/ with others. It's not as fast as, say, /v/, but definitely more active than others like /po/ (don't take me wrong, I love /po/ and comment regularly, just making a point here).

One thing we need is more mods to delete porn threads/trolling threads (Read; Bui threads).
Also the rules need to be rewritten and enforced more.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who would try and help /vp/ by becoming a Janitor if it means we get to keep the board.

I usually come by for the drawfags and do random Pokemon art every so often for those who ask and I can't see the drawthreads continuing if we get merged with /vg/.

Honestly, the biggest complaint I imagine most share is with the severe lack of moderation. Users across all of 4chan use us as the mine field for their first troll attempts, others assume since we enjoy characters that are animals that they can just dump furry porn here.

Promoters are a problem here. I feel like I'm constantly seeing people trying to push their hobbies/websites. Streams (more often than not NOT even pokemon related content), people selling shit on etsy, etc.

DO NOT for the love of anything, combine us with any other boards. I don't see that working out at all in any way whatsoever. The rumors of us getting taken off of 4chan have given this board a huge spike of interest/posters. It just goes to show that people really do love this board, despite all the bullshit. They just can't tolerate the fact that we're left to our own devices, to suffer the bullshit without frequent moderation. If the board were properly eyeballed, it'd be just as spunky as it was in the beginning, I'm sure of it.

This board does mean a lot to me, there aren't many places you can talk pokemon with "adults", and as a fun this serves to be a great hub for all things Pokemon. We can trade/battle, collect art and other associated media, share theories, stories, everything imaginable all in one place that gives us the 'verbal' freedoms no forum would consider. I have always been glad we were given it.

I was waiting all day for this kind of thread and right as I finally decide to take one last look before bed it finally happens. Unfortunately I think most of the people justifying this board's existence and rallying together are also asleep.

To sum up: /vp/ has its share of filth, such as certain tripfags that will constantly shit things up for no reason and never leave, unusual/disturbing fetish threads, cringe-worthy RP threads, constant bitching about how the board's getting worse. The usual kind of thing you'd expect I guess from a Pokémon board.

What makes this place worthwhile though are the threads promoting the multiplayer parts of the game in a fun and fast way, the give-aways related to that, the discussions of the metagame, threads with people starting new adventures in their games and sharing their experiences with us, discussing challenges/rom-hacks, talking about any specific part of Pokémon whether it be the lore, game-related, plot-related, something quirky in the anime, and more I can't think of cause I'm tired.

This board seemed created in the first place because Pokémon is so unusually big that when new games are released, all the excitement and hype and later tons upon tons of threads would just be isolated here. Plus it takes advantage of the fact that the anime is still going on after over a decade and many movies have been made/are being made. Sure, /vg/ seems to be an option with Pokémon generals easily being able to be made there, but Pokémon just seems too big from what we've made of it here to be just a general thread like the other topics.

Back to the topic: Pokémon General is everything BUT a Pokémon thread. This needs to stop, it's annoying and was always just a circlejerk from /v/ trying [and achieving] to annoy us. If there's no hope of /vp/ staying, then nothing I say will matter. But if there is, consider that the community here, while definitely shitty on the surface, is very close and we can band together whether to have fun or protect something we love dearly (like the rumors floating around about the board's end). Lots of other boards consider this place a blight, and that's fine, but I don't see the problem if the "blight" is kept here. Usual lurkers here learn to ignore certain threads and stick with the good stuff, and Pokémon doesn't seem to pour out into other parts of 4chan in an infectious way like ponies, just every once in awhile and people are usually fine with a small appearance.

If it's at all possible and not too much of a hindrance to keep this place, it would mean a lot to us /tr/ainers. It seems like a waste to have gathered us all here, have us develop, and then cause what has been built to spread out and lose parts of itself. If I wanted to start a discussion on Ash I could go to /a/ too.). You can give a board to anything (furries, rpers, streamers), but as long as it's Pokémon related, it still would be ok to post it in /vp/ too.

SECOND Roleplay isn't shouldn't be allowed. RPing has been a problem and a complaint for a while. This needs to become a rule.
THIRD we need mods. If you can't get many, than just 2+ who will actually moderate a majority of the time.

Don't merge us. Merging will cause more problems.
A few more mods with some new rules will do nicely.

As someone who was here when /vp/ was born but stopped coming due to lack of interest, I agree with the need for a big crackdown on unspoiled porn, furry and shitposters. I also think that you should reconsider /mon/. I for one would like a place where I can discuss monster-related topics like pokemon, digimon, monster rancher, kaiju, and monstergirls without threads getting shat on in other boards I'll never forgive /co/ for reportspamming a godzilla thread. Plus it would stimulate more discussion, because sadly discussing one topic, even one as broad as pokemon, does tend to get stale eventually.

I don't even care what Pokemon General does; whatever the fuck they do, they keep it to themselves, at least

There are a lot of other issues to check and delete:
-Dubz name my pegeyman
-Are you simgle
-Bui and Kyo or another Tripfaggot that is running rampant WREAKING HAVOC on EVERY THREAD
-The lack of mods
-The low control for all these streamings
-The stupid and unnecessary genwars
-The reproduction of many NSFW threads (i can deal with one massive one, at the very least)
-Troll threads
-The constant and unnecesary threads that repeat day after day, asking for either a distro, Pokecheck or anything similar
-Those threads that always appear to ask for ROMS

ALL of these spit "we need moderation", more than anything else.

If we can AT LEAST, get the first steps done right, then the following wouldn't be that hard to get done. At all.

TL;DR? We NEED some sort of moderation, whether you like it or not and maybe a guide, so we can AT THE VERY LEAST, not having duplicate threads every day.

Well, there's two communities of Role-Playing people, as far as I know. One is that Team Rocket thing and the other is Pokemon are Real. They all seem like a bunch of retards, but I never read those. If they keep to their own fucking threads, I don't see why not let them be. Ban everyone that roleplays out of those threads, though, like those threads that are "master I wet the bed" or "I like tickling my shinx :3".
