First two seasons? Hell no. Great first two seasons and I'd recommend watching the Japanese version for the one with guns, the Porygon one and the one with James in a bikini.

Watch through the end of Johto. That's when it stops being good.

If you're really into it though, you can watch until they change the voices. That's when it turns to absolute shit.

they only showed half of season one here on tv but i downloaded the rest of season one christmas 2008. I caught up to the beginning of diamond and pearl series in mid may the year after and ever since then ive waited patiently for a new episode every week. no regrets. if you decide to watch all of it prepare for voice changes in mid advanced generation arc, pissed me off at first but doesnt bother me at all anymore

ANIME in my opinion

Season 1 and 2 are good
Johto is mediocre
after that it sucks until Diamond and Pearl
Diamond and Pearl have terrible voices but some of the most story/character development the show has seen... just not with ASH

just avoid the Johto and Hoenn parts of the anime

The anime actually isn't too bad as long as you're watching the episodes where they are in Kanto.

After the Johto thing started...it slowly became as we know it today. Nowadays, it's just a shameless advertising campaign for for the cards, games, etc.

First two seasons or so though...oh man. You will cry bitch-tears when Butterfree.
