Hey /tr/? Why am I so bad at Pokemon?
    >> Marshtomp !PLCndC2/Bs 09/11/10(Sat)17:48 No.1845249
Because you pick pokemon you actually like. Not Tourneyfag pokemon. You're a good person.
    >> Anonymous 09/11/10(Sat)17:48 No.1845251

Oh keep wanking off bad players, will ya? This is pathetic. I can use my favorites from lesser teirs and still hold my own in OU.
    >> Anonymous 09/11/10(Sat)17:49 No.1845287
Because you don't enjoy playing. Remember, it's a game, you're supposed to have fun.

This made me feel fucking epic.
And yes, you are right... I do pick Pokemon that I lurve.

I do enjoy playing! I just keep getting my ass handed to me by actual people.

Post your team, we'll fix it and tell you how not to suck.

Also, against what do you play? Full team of Arceus?

    >>1845329
Let me guess, they use the strongest possible pokemon, the strongest possible attacks or sometimes even pre-set teams they read in guides.
Never mind those faggots, play with nice people.

Well. My team consists of right now:

    Sceptile Lvl 100
    Blaziken Lvl 40-something
    Gengar Lvl 60-Something I believe
    Dusknoir Lvl 50- Or something
    Walrein- Lvl 40-Something
    Gardevoir Lvl 35.... Around-ish.

I loves them Pokemon and I raised them all.

This team's perfectly viable. You're probably just a bad player.

You're playing at the auto lv100 mode right?

I'd rather be an ass than wank myself and fellow bad players off by telling myself really nonsensical things.

Do those people even enjoy playing? Cause in other games, tourneyfags always rage when they lose and are indifferent when they win. I use the pokemon I like, I don't EV train, and I still enjoy playing even if I get beaten by everybody.
    >> Anonymous 09/11/10(Sat)18:00 No.1845606
    >>1845510
well, I notice you have two ghost type pokemon on your party. Personally, I would remove one from the party and choose a sturdy rock or ground type.

I can't say for sure without looking at your movesets, and the fact that I am unfamiliar with most pokemon past Generation II.... but it doesn't appear that you have an electric pokemon on board either.

Might want to consider altering movesets to better cover your weaknesses.
    >> Anonymous 09/11/10(Sat)18:00 No.1845619
    >>1845586
No. They play the game online for hours on end, write articles, war stories, share experiences and tips and all because they do not enjoy playing the game.
    >> Slightly happier Pokemon Trainer 09/11/10(Sat)18:01 No.1845654
Naw' I usually go up against this one friend of mine who has too many Lvl 100's and ubers, He usually takes out my Sceptile with his Blaziken and it Pisses me off!! >:C

    >>1845606
Having two types that are the same isn't a deal breaker, but you have three Pokemon, including Gardevoir and the above two, that are weak to dark and ghost. Not a good place to start at.

Electric comment is irrelevant, you can pack TPunch of Dusknoir and Tbolt on Voire and Gengar if you need to.
    >> Anonymous 09/11/10(Sat)18:02 No.1845664
    >>1845619
That's cool. Then I guess they all use unique teams and not ones they read about on the internet. Cause that's the point of the game, to make a team that you like.
    >> Anonymous 09/11/10(Sat)18:02 No.1845691
    >>1845654
Sounds like a troll, but, huh, if you adjust it to lv100 that shouldn't happen.
    Also ban Ubers.

Oh what, too "tourneyfaggy"? Enjoy getting one shotted by Ubers then by a casualfag.

    >mfw you're probably a billion times more guilty of having an uninspired team with your cliche grass/electric/fire/water-two fillers, probably a few starter evos there as well theme-less team.

training all your pokemon to the same level might help. don't go expecting to win any tournaments if you don't want to bother with EVs IVs and multi poke strategies
    >> Slightly happier Pokemon Trainer 09/11/10(Sat)18:07 No.1845812
Alright. Here's a moveset for everyone.

Sceptile: Earthquake, Leaf Blade, Frenzy Plant, and a Dragon move

Gengar: Shit... I forgot..... No wait. Thunder and some other moves...

Dusknoir's moves are kinda' shitty he was more of a joke: Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, Fire Punch, and Focus punch

Walrein's moves: Blizzard, Earthquake, Ice fang, and something else.

Blaziken's moves: Blaze kick, Flamethrower, Brick break, Bulk up.

Gardevoir's moves: Magical leaf, Psycic, Confusion, Light screen

    >guilty

    Yeah right.
What do you mean by theme though? Like gym leaders? I have pokemon that have super attacks against all pokemon types. I play Blue so I can't really have any extensive tactic, only hit hard.

He usually takes out my Sceptile with his Blaziken and it Pisses me off!! >:C
Don't be a gym leader, when a pokémon that is a threat is switched in, you switch yours out into something that can take the hit.

I guess you're right... I just have never really switched Pokemon mid battle to block an attack, and I think that is where I fail.

This is all up to you, but I found that a very effective moveset for my Gardevoir was:

    Psychic
    Magical Leaf
    Rest
    Sleep Talk

With Rest you get the benefit of having a "recover" type move, which proves to be annoying to whoever you're battling against, and "Sleep Talk" can make sure you're doing damage even though you're asleep.

Gengar: Shadow Ball, Focus Blast, Thunderbolt, Hypnosis

    >Gengar: hypnosis

I couldn't teach him damn hypnosis!

    >Sceptile: Earthquake, Leaf Blade, Frenzy Plant, and a Dragon move
It is not recommended to have more than one offensive move of the same type on a pokémon, replace Frenzy Plant with something like Swords Dance, since you're using a physical set.
    >Dusknoir's moves are kinda' shitty he was more of a joke: Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, Fire Punch, and Focus punch
Here's a nice set: Pain Split, Gravity, DynamicPunch, Will-O-Wisp
    >Blaziken's moves: Blaze kick, Flamethrower, Brick break, Bulk up.
Remove flamethrower add stone edge or thunderpuch for type coverage, Replace Brick Break with Low Kick or Superpower.
    >Gardevoir's moves: Magical leaf, Psycic, Confusion, Light screen
Replace Confusion with Reflect, and magical leaf with wish/hypnosis or healing wish
