MW3 I can click a few buttons and be in a game in an instant. BF3 I have to deal with Origins, Battlelog, those ridiculous loading times for the vanilla maps, plus there's no voice chat which makes no goddamn sense for a game that revolves around FUCKING TEAMWORK

Eh, most of us play it for that exact reason. It's easy, fast, it's got that arcadey feeling that you get when you play something like RaidenX or Metal Slug. Endless enemies, high scores, big explosions and zero mental involvement. Like a shitty action movie with great special effects and lots of explosions. I got this game after the free weekend for PC on Steam. I played it for about 12 hours that day, talked with some great people over voice, and actually met a few friends. I thought "wow, the community is so much better than I remember it." I played some great games with nearly no camping, fast paced gameplay, and people throwing compliments around like "nice shot", etc.

Now, fastforward to today after I purchased the game, I am regretting the decision. All these great people were people who were playing on the free weekend because they were bored, and not actual community members. It's just incredibly disappointing and discouraging to be met with such hostility every second you play this game.

Every time I get into a game, everyone is incredibly obnoxious and rude. Everyone is always a high prestige because of zero matchmaking, everyone is dropshotting, and everyone is camping, the gameplay is slow paced because of the camping, and no compliments go around. The only time anyone has anything to say is when they want to either shit talk, or... well, shit talking is pretty much it.

I am by no means a bad player, I am maintaining a 1.9 K/D and 1.4 win/loss... But still, I am not enjoying the game. There's just something about the CoD community that just deters me from playing their games. I have never seen such a horrible community in any game I have ever played.

Oh well, there goes 40 dollars, and a potentially fun game ruined by it's caustic community. Here's my bitchy, whiny, moany rant about how analpained I am. At least ranting gives me something to do now that I've decided to stop playing this game after under a week...

It's close to a sport but not quite because the only way it can become a competition is if everybody is on even footing, which in most cases means everybody runs MP7/FMG. I've actually had some good sporting matches of S&D come out of having everyone agree to try hard with SMGs.

I've attempted to try and have higher standards for myself by running UAV and non-killing support killstreaks only, and not using Akimbo/OP guns. The feeling of pride when I was top of the scoreboard using these "fair" tactics was really the only thing keeping me going. Now I'm just sitting here, debating whether or not to play with the horrible people in League of Legends, MW3, or try to play Battlefield 3 despite it's (sadly) flaws.

Personally I liked the campaign. Although there is no way any of it could possibly happen (even with high level betrayal of government officials... but maybe I give the world too much credit), the campaign was pretty captivating. I just thought the connections that got made and the places you fought were interesting. You can't really say that fighting in the gutters and streets of New York City doesn't seem like a totally bad ass idea. With this, you got to actually do it and to me that's part of the fun. Still don't understand the abnormal hate this game gets so much. Besides the online community that people hate for good reason the game is solid. I still think the campaigns can be longer though...
