I find that KS and YMK are at two ends of the spectrum.

KS is fairly laid-back. Sure, the heroines and Hisao have their issues, but there's not a constant, immediate threat looming over them. Things are pretty chill, relationships work out more slowly and over time.

YMK is much more intense. The heroines and Kouhei have their problems, and they're fairly 'big' ones. And they're a constant, immediate threat. Relationships happen quicker as a result.

They're quite difficult to compare, but for what it's worth, I enjoyed them both on their own merits.

For the record, I played 'em in this order:

>Yume Miru Kusuri
>KS Full Release

Obviously Act 1 didn't have any h-scenes, so when I went through YMK and then KS (when it was released), I was surprised at how tame KS was in that area, too.

To sum it up: I really enjoyed YMK. It's a bit different from KS, but there's a reason it used to be Babby's First, before bent babes came out.

Then in 2012 I just... God damn, too many moments to count. Lilly's confession, the classy date, the ending, pretty much every scene in Hanako's route, Emi's route had a few good ones too...

I can't say that any of the games I've played in my entire life has shaped or changed who I am, but KS changed that. It really helped me in a lot of ways I never would have thought possible.

If you had told me that I would be saying this now, two months ago? I would have laughed in your face and just ignored you.

KS helped me get out of a really toxic relationship, and set my sights for the future. It's done something that I couldn't do on my own, and as beta and retarded as that sounds, it really takes a LOT for me to admit this, even anonymously.

I probably will go back to lurking for another 20 KSGs and not post again, but seriously, all of the regulars, the tripfags, and drawfags: thank you. When I'd come to sage your threads, you'd simply respond with "We love you!" or something totally unfitting of my saging/condescending posts. After a while, I finally broke down after a huge fight with my girlfriend and this game changed my life.

Lilly's route got really spoiled for me by /v/. The only scene that really took me by surprise was the wheat field scene, I didn't expect it at all. And it was fucking beautiful. There was one major flaw in Lilly's route that I noticed after completing it. Hisao's heart attacks are such a crutch in that story, that he actually needs to have heart attacks for the plot to move on Other than that it was a sappy romance but it was good.

I can see how people say Emi's route is more "real" and stuff because it is in a way. I just love girls with bubbly attitudes and I just connected with Emi. She needed the help but she didn't want to accept it, that was her internal struggle. Did Lilly have one? Can't recall..

Well, I went into KS, when I started I just went about the first act at random and wound up in Emi's route. and loved it

from there I wanted more Emi, or to at least have her have some sort of presence in my next route, so I went for Rin.

I think you're right because Hisao following Lilly and trying to persuade her with words is entirely different than the idea of Hisao literally risking his life to gamble on the chance of bringing her back, fully prepared to have a heart attack and perhaps even die on the off-chance she'll stay for him.

It is Hisao's decisive choice of action that makes her realize she too has a choice in whether or not she leaves Japan - his words would not be very effective in this regard, partly because he doesn't really seem to understand half the reason she's leaving (he sees it as being more centered around the relationship, as opposed to her lack of independence).

So in reality it's not that he couldn't find the words sappy enough to make her stay, just that he couldn't find the words to make her understand that she has own free will.
