  • Dear Londoners: I am in your lovely rainy city for the next few days. If you'd fancy a spot of tea and dessert,
send an e-mail to london@4chan.org with a sentence or two about yourself,
why you aren't Jack the Ripper, and include a timestamp.
    Cheers, —mootykins

Cloud saving, Achievements, Steam servers for online (So if a friend play a game, you will be able to click and join game), imagine the online of TF2 or Left 4 dead.

Its a modifying tool that uses Steam. Think a super easy map editor, maybe Forge from the Halo series. It can also edit most other things.

    Steamworks
Steamworks is a freely available application programming interface (API) that provides development and publishing tools to game developers, allowing them to take advantage of the Steam client's features.[39][40][40][41] Specifically, Steamworks provides the means for games to integrate with the Steam client, including networking and player authentication tools for both server and peer-to-peer multiplayer games, matchmaking services, support for Steam community friends and groups, Steam statistics and achievements, integrated voice communications, and Steam Cloud support; the API also provides for anti-cheating devices and digital copy management.[41] Steamworks can be combined with a standard Steam distribution agreement, the latter of which gives it advertising space in the Steam store but also provides Valve with a share of revenue.

So lets say that the guys at Gearbox want it, they could make it so that you can trade weapons from Borderland for Hats in TF2.

well, borderlands kinda handles achievements fine already, but modding is something more interesting.

Well, Borderland 1 on Pc didnt have Steam achievement until the mid life. Because they wanted to track the PC players.

Eh I wouldn't hold my breath for better textures. More options light AA and other shit? sure, but honestly It's not even going for the photorealistic look anyway so I don't mind low tier textures if they are done right.

Cloud saves are also awesome. I can't tell you how many times I had to restart a character for the first borderlands.

yeah, they got saved locally in documents or some shit if i remember. I had to manually back them up when reformatting or reinstalling.

Also, i like this letter. It may be a way too obvious "PLEASE BUY OUT GAME" but hell, this is business, and it looks nothing but great to us PC fags.

Matchmaking was gay in the first game.

They understood that the PC crowd do not like being not liked. So they focus on us. And they get more stats and intel from doing so.
    >> Anonymous 03/17/12(Sat)09:58 No.1958041
You know, Borderlands 2 was looking pretty good because I kind of liked 1 even if it had some problems (namely the shitty co-op system aaaaa).

This just put 2 waaay higher on "Games to watch for" list. I may buy it at release, if I have the spare dosh.
