Hard mode starts at 20, not 25. But yeah, 20-25 can be pretty painful. I'd suggest you buy the Desert quest items and turn those in (daily, if you take multiple days to level), since you can't do those until level 25 anyway. Other than that, you have the forest quests and the first cave quest available to you, can grind out client orders there.

Any item that requires you to give the NPC X amount of items, yes, you can buy them. And you can pull them out of storage and turn them in fine, you just need to have enough in your inventory to hand to the NPC and you're golden. The reason I say to buy the desert ones is because you only need 10 or 15 per quest, which comes out to 10,500 or 15,750 meseta. Pretty damn cheap, but it's your call if you consider it a worthwhile investment. The forest quests in some instances require 60 drops, so it's not worthwhile to buy those at all.

Not getting oneshot is not enough. Usually bosses take like 80% of health, so any scratch you will get forces you to heal.
Especially with shits like miser, varder or quartz, where they perform lots of multihits.
Defence just scales poorly, as well as attack, so you wont see much of a difference between 120 and 125, and there are no good universal units that would raise all kinds of defence equally.

Personally I have a loadout of 3 nine star defense items. The damage I take against Quartz when I accidentally miss a Just Guard against him, is significantly lower then if I was using my 5star units.

It also helps because most mobs in F. Continent seem to switch from S.Def calculated to R and T.Def calculated.

The important part is that Items don't have innate meseta price – so everyone just slap whatever he likes on it. Which is somehow moderated by competition, so as long as there is a single nice looking item, it might cost much more than you think it deserves, and following items will cost less.
Pretty sure its farmed by the whole community, and pretty sure it doesn't help much to lower the price. On the other hand, no one in their right mind will try to sell ninestar unit high, when barely anyone can wear them, and when auction is so flooded with ninestars, that you might as well just sell it to vendor.

Get 3 other people, learn to do time attack, and hope one appears when Japan is asleep. Almost no one does time attack so you're practically guaranteed to win. Helps to know what you're doing though. You don't need an S, under 12:00 mins, to qualify for interrupt ranking, but you should still shoot for something like that or better in case someone else does try to do time attack at the same time.

This guy's played around with antialiasing stuff for nVidia cards. Using Google Translate can help you decipher a good deal of what he's talking about. It pretty much boils down to using nVidia Inspector to import the profiles provided (pso2_nvaa.zip) and then cutting the numbers in half (i.e. less multisampling and supersampling) until it runs well.
Combining MSAA with running the game at a higher resolution does wonders for image quality. This image was taken using 2xMSAA and Supersampling, along with the game's post-processing AA turned on. It looks pretty smooth, but as you can see there are still quite a few rough edges. The only way around those is to use some kind of super-performance-sapping SGSSAA, or deal with some really blurry low quality stuff.
