Should I play P4 before I get P4A? I don't want to have to play through a 60 hour RPG.

I use Shadow Labrys. Want expecting to when I first started playing, since controlling 2 characters seemed difficult (Like Carl from BB). But it's surprisingly fun. Use Labrys as my sub, even though I'm better with her.

You don't exactly have to, the story mode does explain about everything. P4A's story is generally just for people who wanted more of the franchise as, in some way, it does feature (or at least mentions) recurring characters from about every game (well, maybe not 1)

Not necessarily, though if you haven't played it I'm not sure why you would want the game. It doesn't spoil it or anything, except for perhaps one little thing about Naoto (which I imagine is fairly obvious anyway but I dunno I was spoiled for it beforehand)
