When Sony made the PS1 it did quite well. The N64 and the DC stood their ground, but the PS1 did well enough. When Sony made the PS2, sales wise, it was a grand slam compared to the GC and the XBOXhuge. When Sony made the PS3 originally, they were riding the coattails of the PS2's "We can't do wrong at this point!" mentality and did some relatively bad business decisions that turned out to be okay/good later on and fixed their shit. Overall, Nintendo won this generation in terms of money with MS being in 2nd. Hilariously, the PS3 only started to do well once porn makers got on board with BluRay.
