HAHAHA. No. And I liked FF8 a *lot* too, even though it wasn't my absolute favorite. But anyone who isn't a total faggot, even if they loved the game, can acknowledge that it's polarizing as fuck. They messed around with a lot of the formula in that game, and it's completely reasonable some people would enjoy it and some would loathe it.

Contrary to a lot of /v/, I don't think it's QUITE dead yet. It's still got potential, and it still has a reasonably strong brand, if a little tarnished by the recent incarnation. But a flop or two out of over a dozen games can be brushed off if they get their mojo back on. I don't know if present Squeenix is capable of that though or if they're just toast.

But I don't want to entirely write them off either, sometimes even big, established companies can do surprising stuff if given a sufficient slice of humble pie. Agni's Philosophy looked interesting for example, they've still at least go some people capable of thinking of different settings and shit, though making that into a game is different. Sony was (and still is) in big trouble, but they've been doing the genuinely right stuff overall with the PS4, most of the old arrogance is gone. Intel was in big trouble at one point, totally blindsided by AMD, but they pulled their shit together big time.

found lots to love in nearly every FF game up to the modern era, so don't rank them above each other. tried like 20 minutes of 13, never played x-2 though I heard the game system was pretty fun, enjoyed the NES ones ok back when they first came out, on an NES, but found I could not get back into them again years later unlike the SNES ones.

They´ve lost the touch after X... and where so disappointed in XII that they failed to see that it was not Ivalice fault so they are going to go for what they know they can sell (copies that are a mixture of X and VII)

XIV world looks nice and all but is still a filthy MMORPG.

They need to find a balanced point between the heavy Sci fy and the fantasy or they are screwed. Can´t be hard for them... they did it good for years... and then suddenly merged with enix fired the core people and went to hell!!

I don't understand what was "hard to understand" about the Junction system. Not saying it was good, in fact I hated it (drawing magic repeatedly was tedious as hell) but people keep saying that they don't "get it" and that it was too complicated for them. Nah, those of you who say that are just idiots.

Junctioning is just meant to enhance your stats with whatever you have on you. It's your fault you grinding 300 fires, 300 cures, 300 ice, 300 sleep,etc and then complained it was boring and the game was now too easy

I see what you mean and I respect that. But when I played it, it just seemed like it was meant to happen because of the way it played out from the beginning. The scenes really tried to make Rhinoa love-able so, I duno it just kind of molded into what I expected it to be; which made it great for me.
