If the series spikes in popularity, they'll release the next one physically, just like shitty indie titles get physical releases if they're popular enough.

If you want physical Phoenix Wright, buy the digital version. It's the only way it's going to happen. Whether or not boxed copies exist is directly dependent on the support behind the series.

When a title is digital-only, it's not because they're trying to nickel-and-dime and save scratch. It's because they don't think that it'll work on shelves, that it just doesn't have a big enough market share to make it worth it. This is why your average indie game doesn't attempt to sell physical copies until it's already popular and successful, and why even companies that own digital distribution platforms with mandatory online activation still sell physical copies.

AA5 isn't coming to store shelves because they don't think that would work, plain and simple. If they honest-to-god wanted to jew you, do you know what they'd do? Put it in stores, but package a download code, not a cart. THAT'S how they'd jew you if it's what they were trying to do here.

The eShop has a variety of problems that Nintendo could fix fairly easily but that they haven't. Be sure you know them before using the eShop.

Digital purchase info is stored in the system, rather than in an account (PSN, XBL, Steam and... well, pretty much every other online store ever, gaming or not, do it by account). Storing this information system side means that if a system is lost, stolen or broken, any digital purchases on it are lost too. You can't just sign into an account on another system and have access to them again because there are no accounts.

On top of this, there are very heavy restrictions to your use of digital games on the system. Including, but not limited to
- The game can only be played on that system, unless you perform a full system transfer of ALL information on the system to another, deleting the data off the original system.
- Those system transfers can only be performed five times. They can be reset for you to do it another five times, if and only if you delete your 'Account Activity'. Doing so makes you -unable to redownload your purchased games and deletes any record of your ownership of those games-.
- These system transfers must be at least a week apart. This is one of many completely arbitrary and pointless restrictions too.

Even Origin isn't this restrictive or poorly thought out. And that is REALLY saying something.

I hate how 75% of the people who played the AA games in the past probably had a flashcard or just emulated the game.
I applaud you if you actually bought the games, that is a good thing.
But AA doesn't sell particularly well, could it be because the people who play these games just emulate it or simply download it?
