They already released Tales games on Nintendo and they sold worse than on PlayStation.

The producer said this and said that they will release there games on the platform with their biggest fanbase(PlayStation).

This game was made before the WiiU was even announced.

And Japan doesn't give a shit about the PC as a gaming platform outside of niche doujin games and VNs.

As long as Tales games continue to sell more on PlayStation consoles/handhelds, you will never see a Tales game on Nintendo again.

You already saw how Tales of Graces, Innocence, Hearts, Symphonia were. They eventually made remakes/ports for PlayStation and they sold more than the original game and had more content.

The Wii U will probably get Tales of Symphonia 3/spinoff

They could add a lot actually, kind of like what they did with Innocence (it was in 3D and free roam on DS as well).

Why did it sell so well in america?
Three reasons.

1.The gamecube was in desperate need of games that weren't nintendo games.
The few games that filled genre niches well did remarkably. Tales of Symphonia was a great and fun JRPG that did just that.

2.In Japan ToS is fairly generic.
Japan sees ToS. "Get this generic trite kiddy shit the fuck up out of here!"
America sees ToS "Oh my fucking god you are the best fucking JRPG EVER Let's be friends and go on adventures!"

We didn't get many games like that. This was legitimately a fun straightforward well done jrpg and people really responded to it.

Just to clarify, you know Japanese is not part of worldwide grade school education thus, a Language everyone freely knows?
As long as the version of game has not been localized and translated to English that IS the widespread language among western society what we are part of, it stays as exclusive status. There is difference in arcade games and whatnot but games like Tales or other Jarpigs are quite unplayable if you do not understand them.
