"Neon V" is the working title of a /v/ game project, which started in a thread back in March. We have since been working on story, art, music, and game engine. The programmers are working with C# and XNA.

Neon V is a 2D action/adventure game, with a focus on fast-paced melee combat in a beat-em-up setting. However, the game features more than one weapon and has multiple gameplay mechanics in place in order to accommodate for multiple playing/combat styles. Gameplay will typically consist of exploration, but with every area interspersed with areas that are at the center of combat. Most of the game is spent trying to reach certain areas, although the game will have plenty to offer besides.

The game takes place in the distant future, on another planet. The main character needs to escape from a dying world, with numerous obstacles in the way.

Naturally, we have a writing team working on the lore and story.
We intend the melee combat to be centered on using weapons, although we're not ruling out some form of hand-to-hand.
By multiple mechanics for multiple styles, we mostly mean the combat system, which will utilize both melee and ranged weapons, made so that each player can find their forte.
