the diagonal down back+circle move can be hit out of if you time a kick or special move right. If you are Law you can press diagonal down forward to do a floor kick that if timed right can stop it or if you are Law again you can do another move where you leap backwards kinda and it dodges the move

What i like i do with Law is press back and L1 which is when he jumps back and moves foot to foot and you can then press forward and circle or forward and square to do a powerful hit, but i don't do it for that reason i time it so i dodge the move the enemy did and either pimp slap or kick them

Hey tekken newbies, tekken vet here. Here are some tips to start:

>What character is best for a beginner?
There are "easier" and "harder" characters in this game, (for example, law and paul are considered "easier" while kazuya and devil jin are considered "harder") but the truth is, every character has tricky nuances. For example, Paul's demolition man is a just frame, and while Law is simple to execute, he is not brainless and is very unsafe (a skilled player will punish the shit out of you if you play mindlessly).
Every character is viable competitively in this game, if you're into that kind of thing. It's not like Street Fighter where certain characters are unviable.

So to answer that question, pick your favourites! If you like playing Mishimas, play Mishimas, don't let the just frames and heavy execution scare you, you'll master those with time. And if you like "scummy" characters (for example, a lot of people dislike Lars) then just go ahead and play them.

Firstly, learn to cancel at least one backdash. All you gotta do is go bb,db,bb. It's that simple. You're crouching the end of your backdash animation to cancel it and you're cancelling your crouch to dash. A simple cancel will move you out of range for many moves.

Secondly, learn to punish. This gets a bit hairy and may be beyond the scope of a newbie player, but try and remember this: in TekRev, invincible moves are ALWAYS launch punishable. Learn your character's launch and use it.

Don't worry too much about 10 hit combos, they're not natural combos (meaning they can be blocked or parried during the string).

Finally, learn to react to things. This is a big part of fightan games in general. Everyone in the cast except Kazuya has a slow but painful low attack which will hurt you if it lands, but if you block it you can launch punish. There's no risk without reward in this game.

I played, once again, Lili, and I won 4 consecutive matches before the host shut the room.

The game is WAY too easy with those "special" moves that they SHOW YOU in the character menu.

It's not just Yoshi. If you've noticed, they've opted not to put in any stance heavy character into this game. The character with most complex stances is probably Steve, and that's not saying much.

The jury's out on why they're not in, but it's widely speculated that it';s because they did not want new players to be overwhelmed with difficult characters. Also, Eddy is not easy for new players to deal with and would probably lead to a lot of raging.

Yes. The notation is FC df1 (translation: while crouching, down-forward + square).
That's a launcher. I'm actually not 100% on what kind of combo he can get off that, but I know he can get juggle off it.
Try these and see if they work:
Firstly, notation
u: up, d: down, b: back, f: forward. Therefore df is downforward, ub is up-back and so on.
1: square, 2: triangle, 3: cross, 4: circle.
FC: full crouch
hcf: half circle forward. Used for King's giant swing throw. The throw is f, hcf.

Hard combo
FC df1, df21, f1, f hcf1.
Ends in a throw, so it's hard. If it's too much, try
FC df1, df21, f1, b3

If you're pro, you can try and "tech trap" your opponent. Basically, you do a short combo which leaves them near your feet and do FC df1. If they techrolled, by the time they're out of the techroll animation they have little time to react and will be hit by the move. This only works if they techroll, of course.

Speaking of which, there are a lot of backrolling newbies playing this. I suggest you use your shoulder charge to catch them backrolling (f2+3). If you're playing Tekken Tag 2, catch them for a re-juggle with df43.
