Tell me, /v/, is college better than high school?

I'm really scared about it, so please grant me some of the knowledge of like-minded people.

inb4 underage b&, I'm 18.

Way better. Elements of choice. Not video games.

I don't know. You're possibly asking the wrong person. College ramps up the workload and there are too many bullshit liberal agenda classes and "check your cisprivilege-social justice" classes. High school had its drama, but it was fun and easygoing in comparison.

Is your forward slash key broken, anon-kun?

Just join the Navy OP.

If you don't go to a shitty community college, it's better. Community college is like high school 2.0, whereas a university gives you actual choice, and you don't have to get up at the crack of fucking dawn either. It wasn't this amazing social experience that my elders said it would be though.
>>
not vidya, fuck you.
>>
some classes can be just like high school. it depends on the instructor and it's typically gen-ed courses. expect a lot of "introduce yourself to the class" shit.

if you strictly want to avoid this, take night classes. they are a lot more relaxed and should harbor more non-trads (older people actually looking for education instead of a fun "fuck-around" time and less "hurr durr college!" bullshit).

I can attest to this, although sometimes the crowd would get a little too old for my taste. It was definitely a nice change from shitty morning classes, where all the barely underage b&s infest the classrooms.

Join a frat and you'll be fine.

Actual university student and have been on 4chan for five years.

Yes. SCARIER? yes too. You're kind of on your own, but the freedom makes everything so much sweeter. Even if you're a guy that stays in his room all day, it's still better than staying at your parent's house. You make friends because they're cool, not because you're forced by location or schedules (though that's still possible). You learn new things and try new things. That's probably the best part.

It's not for everyone though.

what the fuck is this doing on /v/

wat?
Spoken like a fag who's never been to college.

Yeah, because living at home and going to school whenever the fuck you want is DEFINITELY more stressful than living in 10x10 room and sharing a giant shower/toilet room with everyone on the floor. Yeah, that's way better. I loved having to walk down the hall to wash my hands before eating and after eating, and having a giant, snoring fatass living with me. Best years of my life, tell you wat.

To answer your question, commuting to college is exactly what high school should have been: You wake up, go to class, listen to a teacher, get assigned work, and come home. A pure, no-bullshit learning environment. If there's a bully, you turn him in---to the law, because you're both adults and it's assault/harassment. If you want to go to a restaurant to eat lunch, just fucking go, I mean, you drove yourself to school. If you don't want to go to class, fucking don't. Who cares, your teachers aren't going to care. Aren't up on the newest trends? Who gives a shit, nobody is there because they're forced to be there. Everyone is actually paying money to be there, so their first concern is usually learning.

Being an adult has a lot of downsides, but it has the very big upsides of being a full citizen and not having to deal with children(aka, faggots).

Teen asking the only easily accessible online community he knows and "trusts" (to an extent) a question regarding his future.
With the amount of shitposting now, we can at least let this slide and help him out.

I graduated from college you chucklefuck. I didn't need to go to a fucking dorm to go to my university. Community college is shit tier education and is for plebs.

This nigga gets it.

The transition is smooth as silk if you go to a community college for your first couple of semesters then dive into a uni later. You also save money and avoid the shellshock of jumping in from an American Highschool to the awful environment that is the average American University

Don't know why I'm asking but, isn't going to a community college a viable option to get your core classes out of the way?
At least for the first year to help lower costs.
>>
I don't know about college but I can tell you getting a job sucks dick

At least I can afford drugs/vidya so fuck it
>>

Community colleges are good to start out in, that I will say to you. I would not however, recommend a community college for anything advanced. It's at that point where you find a lot of professors are shit at teaching the material.

It serves its purpose to get your feet wet, and can be cost effective (assuming you don't have to take classes over again because some shitty community college professor couldn't teach for shit), but nothing more.

/sci/ here,
Depends on where you go. Seeing as you're probably a social retard like a majority of this site, go to a CC for 2 years and figure out where you want to transfer to.

I'm attending UC Berk getting a BA in physics with a minor in chemical eng, though I'm probably the only one at my school that browses this shit site.

You won't get any decent paying job without at least an AA degree, and even at that it's risky depending on what you major in. This is on average, of course there are people that get lucky or have connections, but assume as the majority and figure out how to gain advantages.
