Why did they named it Battlefield 4?

They could have easily gone with Bad Company 3, in that way, they would get some of the people that loved BC2 and didn't liked BF3

or Battlefield : something new

the worst of all is that that cover/title looks exactly the same as BF3

even Call of duty has more diversion, Modern warfare 2 was brown, Black ops was with cold war era weaponry, Modern Warfare 3 was greener, Black ops II was futuristic

BC2 had bloom and lot of green, BF3 has all tones but blue desaturated

and this look the same


at least i Hope the gameplay is better and that destruction actually matters like it did on BC2

For what its worth. The gameplay so far has some really solid texture work, lighting and animation. Also the destructibility looks dynamic, plus particles are quite nice.

If Activision doesn't have a CoD gameplay trailer that can match this or better (since they're obsessed with using using a Quake 2.5 engine for everything), this could very well be the death of CoD & cause EA to effectively eat the CoD pie for themselves.

I don't like EA nor CoD, but I sincerely think EA has a chance of gutting Activision this time around if they don't have a good showing of the next Modern Warfare game that's beyond the normal bullshit they've had for every CoD game since MW1 this generation.

the people who make CoD the multimillion-seller it is aren't scouring the internet for battlefield trailers

CoD is one of the select few games that breaks through to a truly casual massmarket who only plays one or two games at all; most of them probably have not even heard of battlefield

Why did they even implement singleplayer in Battlefield?

No one cares about it because it doesn't have the same star power as COD and everyone plays for the multiplayer.

They are just wasting time and resources that could go towards a flawless multiplayer. Its ridiculous.

We're talking about next-gen showings to attract the fps market. Right now, there's a general announcement that a new CoD game is in the works. But beyond that, there's nothing presented. EA came out and revealed their hand.

Don't get me wrong, it would take an immense amount of effort to kill CoD. That said, there's a good chance that EA might be able to at the least bring itself on the same footing as CoD with Battlefield 4.

I do apologize for some very poor choice of words in the original post. I should've said more of dethroning CoD as the-go-to fps type rather than killing it outright.

They're obviously pushing out 4 to pad the bank account for the end of this gen and 5 will be next gen with a new version of Frostbite.

Who cares about that minority? Focus on making your multiplayer gameplay awesome, bring back dedicated serves, and mods. COD sells millions mostly because of the multiplayer, everybody I know still plays COD singleplayer, but if that were to be taken away they are such mindless single celled organisms that they will still play COD's multiplayer and it will still sell so much.
