**Each customer also has a certain good range that they will buy. For instance, the Young Man is a weapons whore, that niggers loves his worn out swords. The little girl however, will never buy weapons but will love to buy all your shitty clothing items and cheap food products also books, shes such a nerd for books. The Old Man likes his treasure and expensive food items where as the house wife likes to buy ingrediants and jewelry THE SLUT.
Therefore it is vital to have soemthing on sale for everybody. If you have only weapons on sale and you get a bunch of little girls through the door, YOU ARE FUCKED. Variety is the key to capatilism.
So now your store should be set up. You should have nothing too expensive on display (keep that vase hidden for now)
Its time to open up. The mornings usually bring out the loli shoppers and house wives. Whilst you may all complain about the stingy loli, she is actually one of your best customers in a way. She'll come in and make a bee line for your discount counter and want to buy all your cheap shit.
Ok so time for merchant class 101.

Whilst it is possible to sell most your stuff for around 130% base value, this is STUPID. Dont do it. You want to be selling for roughly 105% base price.
WHY you scream? Because of the bonus exp of course. Each customer who picks something up off of the shelf will have in their mind a rough guess of what its worth, if you meet that spot on you get a JUST PIN bonus and +30exp. If you get close to it you recieve a NEAR PIN bonus of +15 exp. This all adds up, especially since you should always be getting Near Pin and occasionally Just Pin. This helps you to build up your merchant level quicker as well as levels up the customers. After a while of hitting near/just pins on the same customer, they flirt with you and wink a love heart at you. This indicates that your customer has just evolved. Which in turn means they now have a higher pix limit to spend. Evolving the old man/charme or guild master is our goal, because when they hit level 1, they develop a sudden urge to spend 25k on a vase.
The other MASSIVE advantage of selling at 105% base is that you build up a chain. This means your first sale is a +2exp chain, your second is +4, then it doubles there after to a maximum of 128. 128 exp PLUS the potential 15/30 from pin = MEGA EXP. You will likely get an entire level from just one sale.

So, I just finished the first month, unlocked Charme, Nagi and the annoying mage kid but they're horribly underleveled in comparison to Louie and their attacks all seem impractical (since none of them have Louie's wide range, maybe Nagi if you position her correctly) so in the end I just sticked with Louie now that he's really well geared.

Customers have different budgets, meaning they’ll be able to select and afford different price ranges of items. Through tireless testing, we have managed to exactly determine the base budgets of each customer:

Hearts = Reputation.
Reputation is how customers ‘level up’. When a heart appears next to their portrait it means they gained a reputation level and now like you more. This increases their budgets by a factor of at least 10(currently being tested), improves the items they try to sell you and probably also increases how often they show up. Without a good reputation it’s almost impossible to sell anything more expensive than a Beef Bowl, but once they ‘rep up’ once or twice they’ll be buying Mermaid Shoes and Very Odd Vases left and right. Reputation makes the whole difference between living in a box and fabulous riches.
Reputation is gained through:
* Sales. Every sale gives a certain amount of rep. Hitting near pins and full pins gives a lot more rep, likely 1.5 and 3 times normal rep respectively. Note that the value of the item sold does not seem to affect the reputation you gain, so giving a customer a discount on an Apple is just as effective as giving them a discount on a Very Odd Vase.
* Item bonuses. A +4 item gives a ton more rep than a regular one - intuitively I’d say about 20% more per modifier level, but don’t quote me on that.
* Town events. I’m almost sure the various encounters with people out on the town help improve your reputation.
* It seems like fulfilling advance orders gives additional reputation. It’s likely that this is proportional to the number of items ordered.

Shop atmosphere is one of the most important factors to selling lots of merchandise. Each category determines who shows up to your shop to buy shit. If you want a lot of people showing up throwing money everywhere work towards Gaudy, but not too far! If you end up 100% Gaudy very few people show up to your store. I believe you need to have Charme visit your shop 5-6 times until she gives you the recruitment card, and then someone will come into your store one day talking about a new dungeon.

Could be wrong though, I had a perfect demo save and got the shop event that opens up that dungeon very early.

To open 3rd dungeon, go to the plaza at noon. wait for an event with an elven girl. after that, Charme is going to inform you about a new dungeon. "Amber Garden".

To get to the 4th dungeon. Go to the plaza at night after clearing Amber Garden. there will be an event with a Demon. Visit plaza again the next night for another event. The next day, open your shop at night to get another event with the demon. The day after that, a shop event with Louie informing you about a new dungeon "Obsidian Tower" will occur.

Don't worry about it. When you fail your payment, buy as much expensive shit as possible on the last day and you start over at day 2 with all your inventory, levels (also adventurers' levels and equipment).
