All pre-made gaming computers are good. Its just that they are overpriced considering you can built your own for alot cheaper.
    >> Anonymous 07/05/10(Mon)22:11 No.65728XXX
There has to be a decent rig somewhere.

Any pre-made computer will cost more than one you build because companies like Alienware jack up the price a few hundred dollars.

Then what would be good based on efficiency? Quality/Price

while you guys are talking about builds, are any of these builds worth the cost? http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/How-To,4/Build-Your-Own,16/

    From the SBM's

They are alot of computers, alot of manufactures, different websites, etc.

Which one were you looking at getting? I suggest looking at newegg and check out their stock of prebuilts. Then get the model number google and see if you can get something cheaper.

Also google local computer shops in your area. Maybe you can get one from there or a cheap box where you can get parts to put in yourself

oh yeah, i've seen the system builder's marathon on tom's hardware. I wondered about those too

you guys are looking at the $550 model?
    >> Anonymous 07/05/10(Mon)22:23 No.65730XXX
the only premade comps that anyone should buy are laptops

The 550 or any of those models. The march builds seem to outperform the June's but they are also more expensive. The 550 seems to have the best cost/efficiency ratio but would spending more on the higher priced ones yield a better increase?

As a note, I personally am looking to upgrade to get ready for FFXIV

Currently I'm on an XPS Gen 3 with the graphics card replaced by an 8800 GT

    Good: yes

Good with Good price/performance ratio: NEVAR
    >> Anonymous 07/05/10(Mon)22:25 No.65730XXX
in all sincerity all are shit because they usually don't give you a good videocard because videocards add considerable money to the final price and they leave you stuck with that built in video garbage that is useless

Debatable. I bought a custom-built laptop. It cost me a lot (£150 fee on the building), but I saved a shitload overall.
