I have both this and FFIX on an emulator pack I downloaded from Demonoid. Which should I start with? I never played either.

I'm more interested in FFIX right now because the art style pleases me, and Vivi looks fucking badass. But I'd like to hear from people who played both.

I really liked FFVIII, and felt the system allowed for a lot of strategy and experimentation. The story was good, and we were all "Squall" once in our lives, whether we want to admit it or not. I dont see where the hate comes from.

It's not an official version, it's a custom made DVD from the 5 CDs the original PC version, it's main feature is that you don't have to keep changing discs when installing or playing it. However you need to use these button combinations to change "disc" when asked:
CTRL ALT 1 = change to "disc 1"
CTRL ALT 2 = change to "disc 2"
CTRL ALT 3 = change to "disc 3"
CTRL ALT 4 = change to "disc 4"
