Michael Jackson has an interesting voice, but that is about it. His lyrics were rarely written exclusively by himself, and I'm sure the tune/beat/etc. were either spoon fed to him or written by someone else.

The Beatles at least played actual instruments, but then again so do The Jonas Brothers. Their guitar and drums were very simplistic 90% of the time and as far as writing, like 85% of their songs were just poppy love songs, and most of the others had nonsensical lyrics that require little skill to write.
