04/16/10(Fri)07:59 No.56023349>>56022553 It's
maingame size, since it allows you to play with people who have vanilla,
CR, or both.
As for enjoyability, it varies between multiplayer
and singleplayer.
Singleplayer is shorter than vanilla's campaign
since there's no more of the "defend the x" missions, but each mission
is well crafted, and the small amount of wargear you get in a single
playthrough from the selection of available wargear coupled with the
multiple endings and possible skill choices make replay rather large.
I've already done three runs through primarch (100% pure, 100% corrupt,
100% pure with Will spec), and am planning a new one to test some edits
I'm making to wargear availability LUAs (there's a librarian staff that
gives "5% chance to get athlete's foot").
Multiplayer scrim is
notably hindered by the need to balance five races against each other,
leaving Orks and 'Nids at the bottom of the food chain while Chaos and
Eldar bicker over the top position. There's a ton of strategies you can
use, a few common cheese plays, and the usual 'units everyone hates,'
but it's no worse than DoW1 in terms of balance. It's fast-paced
compared to other RTS games, with some games ending in a concede after
the first minute, and the longest coming in around 45 minutes.
I
throughly enjoyed both vanilla and CR, but I'd recommend trying a few
scrims against a comp and seeing if you like the game's mechanics before
you buy it. |
