All right everyone, it's time for
yet another exciting adventure brought to you by the Goldenrod Radio's
own Variety Channel. Today's story is that of a boy and his faithful
Rattata. We bring you "Top Percentage":
Ever since they first
met, Joey and Rattata had been the best of pals: They ate together,
played together, slept together and battled together. Being an only
child, Rattata was the closest thing Joey had to a brother, and Joey
could not imagine his life without him. Even so, Joey’s father had
always said, “Son, there will be a day when you and your Rattata will
have to part ways forever. It may not be soon, but it is inevitable.”
Joey didn’t care, he knew that he and his Rattata would be together for
the rest of their lives. Besides, he didn’t even know what “inevitable”
meant. However, Joey should have listened more carefully to his father’s
words, especially when he met the boy with the red hair. “Rattata!”
Joey cried out. He tried to run to his fainted Pokemon, but the
red-haired boy grabbed him before he could get close. “I won the
battle,” the boy said, “So you’re not going anywhere until you pay me.” “Alright,
alright,” replied Joey, reaching into his pockets, “Take this, it’s all
I have.” The red-haired boy snatched the money out of Joey’s hand and
pushed him to the ground. As the boy began counting his winnings, Joey
ran over to his Rattata and cradled it in his arms. “Hey pipsqueak,”
called the red-haired boy, “You call this a payment? I wouldn’t even
bother to steal this much money from somebody. Then again, I shouldn’t
have expected much from a trainer with a pathetic Pokemon.” That last
insult was too much for Joey. “Don’t you dare talk about my Rattata that
way,” screamed Joey, “My Rattata is not like any other Rattata. My
Rattata is in the top percentage of Rattata!” |
