3D is mediocre at being convincing at best, and a mere eyesore at worst. The fact that Nintendo claim to do it without glasses makes me question exactly how they're doing it - surely we'd have seen an appropriate method like it before on something a little more worthwhile.

Couple that with the fact that it will use up a LOT of its processing power, and you're restricting the platform further. It's just like "doing a Wii", crapping on hardware evolution to push a gimmick.

Not to mention lots of older people who now play vidya because of the DS are going to complain of headaches, but it's nice they included back-support for the DS and DSi library - at least THAT is doinitrite.

Sony could take this in their stride and make a powerful PSP2 which could enjoy a fair amount of success if they learn from the DS and what people used the PSP1 for, but this is Sony, so they fucking won't.

Yes they do, but the execution of it WITH glasses so far hasn't been amazing - yadda yadda Avatar, but 90% of companies won't execute it like that, and chances are the 3D function of the new DS will not overshadow the performance hit it brings.

I'd like to be optimistic, but I don't see this whole 3D buisness being particularly amazing, and think it'll detract from what could be otherwise amazing hardware - a DS with a hellovalot of power could be an amazing thing.
